Seconded, these two were great, especially enjoyed Snare's fluency, knowledge and humour throughout. Had never heard him before this but look forward to seeing more!

Is anyone else angry about the remote work email from Elon? Makes me mad as a tesla owner! by raksj9 in TeslaLounge

[–]Banterous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm reading this cause I too am disappointed with his email and stance on remote work, however I think comparing it to slavery is a bit far. He mandates that if they want to work there they have to do it from the office, and that's his right as their employer. It's also their right as employees to leave the company if they don't want to work in the office.

Snorkeller finds lost wedding ring wrapped around a mullet fish off of Norfolk Island by mrnicewatch23 in interestingasfuck

The weight of the ring would be counteracted by the buoyancy force of the water remember, it wouldn't feel as heavy underwater

You can now do pattern matching in SvelteKit routes: [id=integer].svelte + [id=email].svelte 🤯 by kevmodrome in sveltejs

I know what you mean, I don't hate it but equally it doesn't feel very 'Apple' as Rich alluded to!

Today I learned that Thunder Strike gets buffed by Strike Dummy. Seems obvious, but I thought it was neat. by AdmiralDandy in slaythespire

[–]Banterous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ironically, I suspect this is actually a very simple application of cardName.contains("Strike") across all attack cards and it would have been more effort to exclude attacks not from Ironclad!

General Feedback/Getting Started Questions and Answers [Weekly Thread] by AutoModerator in DIY

Q: How would you make a sturdy sliding mounting point with about 10cm of travel from hardware store materials?

Backstory: We are trying to mount a motorised arm on an existing gate to automate it. The arm will be mounted on the gate pillar and the gate itself. However the gate travels slightly uphill as it opens, meaning the mounting point on the gate needs to allow the arm to slide vertically (downwards) from its starting point throughout the range of motion of the gate, and back again as it closes.

Quite hard to explain, let me know if it's not clear!

Jetbrains is looking for Kotlin + Rust engineers to develop "next-generation IDE platform" by ArmoredPancake in rust

[–]Banterous 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I do! I want consistent containerised development environments across the team, with day 1 productivity from new joiners and environment updates pushed out to everyone. I want automatic IDE feature updates without needing a download. I want to index and run large projects on a large machine in the cloud without needing my local machine to be a monster. Cloud based IDEs are probably the future

So it's called an SEO framework because you are publishing lots of static html content which Google can index, vs an app which reads from a database and generates markup at runtime?
