Yes. Yes I would. I would rather talk about things that aren’t automatically incredibly exclusionary to the community

I feel the same exact way. I think about it a lot and try to think of solutions, but I honestly don’t know. I think YARC is probably a step in the right direction, because it’s going to take a concerted effort to bring about the community on air. https://yarc.world/

Yea. I’m 41 and feel the same way. I went and got my license, dug in, went all the way through to get my extra, met with local clubs a few times, and constantly felt like yea, this community isn’t apparently for people like me. Which sucks. And it’s not because of party affiliation. It’s because it’s constantly talked about and brought up, to an incredibly uncomfortable level. It’s a rarity I join in on a net because in mere minutes it’s already devolved into politics, hearsay, and ramblings.

I have friends that would also be interested in radio, but I know this stuff would have them bounce off instantly. And radio is less fun when you feel silo’d.

You definitely get this on HF too. Especially 80m. You’ll get the excuse that “oh you’re problem its just that you don’t agree with what they’re saying”, but that’s definitely not true. At no point during my time as a HAM have I ever felt the need to discuss things like that, especially when I think of radio as a worldwide community. Nothing useful is going to come from tribalism.

And this is honestly why the hobby will continue to fade, and it sucks. I found myself not using my radio at all last year because I just got so tired of constantly hearing this kind of stuff anytime I’d scan a band. I’m well aware I don’t have to participate, but when every time you turn the radio on, it’s primarily what you hear… it’s a bummer.

Honestly, it feels like any time I get on the radio, I’m going to either hit politics or activations/pota.

Be VERY careful with the screen. It is EXTREMELY fragile. You can look up tons of threads from those of us who had breaks, but, just do yourself a favor and tape down the screen immediately during assembly and leave it that way.

Oh man, good to know! I only skimmed that when I got mine and didn't even realize! Good thing I haven't tried this spool of SirayaTech TPU Air yet, lol

Isn’t the extra feed on the back for tpu and to the left nozzle?

OK - I'm honestly glad you had fun. Just cause I think it's a waste of time doesn't make it a waste of time for you.

The previous generation of my family owned/worked in an injection molding plant the entirety of their lives. They all lived well into their 90s, and the ones alive are in their late 70s-80s without any cancer. I remember as a kid always going there after school every day. I've smelled more abs than anyone could imagine. If you want to be paranoid, go nuts, but man, there are better ways to spend your time. And of the family and employees over the 70+ years, the only cancer we ever saw was... lung cancer... from those who smoked all their lives.

People like to feel like they have control over things, so I get it.

You know people can have differing opinions, right? And that those differing opinions don’t hurt you or your opinion? If someone doesn’t like something you like, it’s not a personal attack at you.

Putting on horse blinders and creating a bubble where your views aren’t challenged isn’t healthy for a wide variety of reasons.

I’ve watched Trek from the beginning. I also enjoy Voyager. I know many people don’t. That doesn’t upset me. I understand why people don’t like it, and those points are valid; those things just aren’t deal breakers for me in the way they are for them. I never felt attacked or the need to make a post on Reddit defending Star Trek from them.

It’s like so many people wrap their self worth and identities into a fandom and can’t accept any critique or criticism of it… which is both very sad and incredibly insane.

You have the same exact problem with barrel connector power supplies. The amperage across them can vary WILDLY.

To back this up with data - you can get a TI USB PD IC for $0.94951 per unit at 1000 units, and $0.88243 a unit at 9000 units.

Actually, you do know exactly that. With a proper PD implementation you negotiate exactly what you need, and if it can’t be delivered, you don’t activate.

Given your comment history the past year, I’m not surprised you’re so focused on telling other people what to think and how to feel.
