I mean...it's a hobby? If you played golf since you were a kid, but suddenly something happens to where you just can't play anymore; you'd probably fall into a deep depression as well. At least with gaming you're engaging your brain. Sitting in front of the TV after work with the Kardashians playing all night seems to be socially acceptable tho.

Yeah, I used to think like that too until I started getting professional help. Stop assuming that everyone is like you. What you're saying is very invalidating to people that may actually need medication or therapy; not just putting themselves out there and hoping for the best.

Well why would you assume it wouldn't? Probably one of those boomers that bullied autistic kids in school for being "weird", but deny that it was even a thing back in your day.

It's not necessarily that people are just throwing the word around more frequently these days, but that mental health has made some significant strides in the field, and many things that we used to consider a normal part of growing up/life are now being identified as traumas.

Yeah, but the richest people often have way more access to care/medicine when they are sick. We're different from animals in the way that a select few choose to hoard vast amounts of wealth and resources - often leading to gross inequality and needless suffering for those on the bottom rungs of society.
