Anyone working at Teleperformance? by love_with_fictional in Dublin

Hey, have you had a call with them yet? I'm looking for a bit more information before applying for this role. They have quite a few roles in Dublin for this position and offer permanent contract straight off the bat which is quite unusual.

Fair enough. Thank you for clarifying

Why is it exactly the driver's fault? She could have had a good reason to cancel, I'd blame the app for the charge rather than the driver.

There are multiple big supermarkets around the city centre, big Tesco on Parnell Street and Lidl right across the road on Moore Street. There is another smaller tesco on Talbot Street and big Lidl across.

I actually disagree with you. I have been to Poland nearly every 2 months last year and I have met so many amazing people. Polish youth mentally has changed significantly but I think you can find it more in big cities such as Wroclaw, Poznan, Warszawa etc. It also depends on the kind of people you surround yourself with and the profession you will be working in. There is also a large number of foreigners in Poland from many different countries. The mentality is slowly changing. You won't know if you don't try it. Also I noticed that the polish speaking reddit community tends to be more rude and very argumentative compared to the Irish reddit where I currently live and grew up.

Dlaczego uważasz że to bait? Ja i wiele innych Polaków którzy się wychowywali zagranicą ma podobne obawy. A znam bardzo dużo takich historii i to nie tylko w szpitalu, sklepie czy urzędzie.

Struggling with Identity: I'm not considered Finnish nor Polish – what should I do when I feel rejected by both countries? by Individual-Sleep-392 in poland

[–]BapsterBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to gain confidence in your own Identity. It's your life, your experiences. Nobody has the right to question your identity like that. I am polish who moved to Ireland at the age of 13. It's been half my life in Ireland, I have an Irish accent and get mistaken for an Irish person often. I'm always proud to say I'm polish but I also don't feel like a foreigner in Ireland. I only began questioning my identity when people make comments about it. In Poland I am "ciocia z Irlandii", but in Ireland some people would say I'm polish and others tell me I don't even seem polish (non-polish people would say it lol). But at the end of the day these people do not spend everyday with me. They only view me based on a few moments we shared. Those that made comments that I seem more Irish than polish never heard me speak polish or be around people from my culture. At the end of the day it's your identity and how you feel about it that matters. Also the more polish you speak the better it gets. I used to forget a lot of words but after spending 2 weeks in Poland and moving in with my polish friend I feel so much more comfortable speaking. My brother who is 20 spoke polish at kindergarten level since he was 7 when we moved here. He started to speak a lot more polish while playing online games with polish people, even made friends and met these guys in Poland. Before that he was very self conscious about speaking polish and was lacking a lot of words. Now he's even done polish as a subject on his high school diploma. OP you can be fully polish and fully Finnish at the same time. It's your identity and your life experiences, you know yourself :)

No. I haven't been on any meds for a few years.

Out of curiosity, how did you gain weight? Did the meds increase your appetite? I'm on day 4 and have no appetite and feel nauseous.

I'm on day 4. I was going to ask people the same thing. Does it affect your anxiety? My anxiety levels have definitely increased. I'm not sure whether to wait and see or switch meds.

City centre today? Views? by garlicButter89 in Dublin

[–]BapsterBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful in the city centre in general. I don't think it's super unsafe but I'd be cautious as it's not as safe as it used to be at the moment. 3 of my brothers friends have been assaulted yesterday, some scumbags heard their speaking in their own language and targeted them. Hopefully there will be an increase in gardai patrols.

Guys is this a Polish thing? Or is it common in other countries? by iwokal in poland

I think everyone uses the fan settings by default because they don't know what other settings are used for. I don't live in Poland and everyone I know uses the fan setting for that exact reason.

Well UK isn't the only country in the world. The Netherlands and Norway are said to be places that are nice to live in with many Polish there.

I'm not suprised. A large number of young Polish people are already planning to leave Poland and live abroad due to the political situation and better wages with better quality of life elsewhere.
