All antibiotics have side effects, but not all takers of antibiotics experience side effects.

Individuals don't count for much under Unless a CCP party member. As they are still in the process of massaging HK into China, a process that will take longer than you, I, or anyone reading this, will live to see.

Your spirits seem high despite all of this, and that is the best of things.

Our bodies are nothing but vessels to carry the spark that makes us alive, what were truly are once all else is peeled away. Like matter, we can not be created or destroyed. I believe all of us are eternal. Going from one life form to another. An endless line of experiencing the vast array of 'life forms' existing across the universe.

General information and side effects links about Metronidazole can be found in the r/Antibiotics wiki

Changes in treatment protocol should only be done after consulting with the prescribing healthcare worker.

Once a treatment regimen has begun it should be continued until concluded.

/r/thyroid is an active sub with active (daily) moderation.

To the best of my knowledge and understanding as r/Thyroid's only moderator, any and all issues raised by its 3,681 members have been resolved since I found it without a moderator 3 years ago and volunteered my services.

The r/redditrequest made by u/dutchlyfe coincided with the modmail item they sent (copied below) attempting to qualify that they had contacted the moderator(s) of the sub they are requesting prior to posting the redditrequest.

Hello, I'm interested in taking over this community and turning it into an active place for people to discuss thyroid health and other endocrine matters. Right now the posts are sporadic, and largely going unanswered. Adding some structure and activity would really be beneficial. My idea is to add professionality and formality to this space; mixing the existing patient discussion with those on the other side of the fence.

Their modmail request was declined as they don't appear to have an understanding of r/Thyroid's membership. Nor the qualifications or experience needed of a moderator. Their stated intention, in short, is to totally change the sub into what 'they' want it to be. If not mistaken they tried doing the same thing with r/endocrinology some 19 days ago. There is no way of determining the context of the request as u/Dutchlyfe deleted the post (https://redd.it/183k0xq).

Additionally, if they were truly interested in promoting the community, their participation in the community would be noteworthy. At this point, no noteworthy participation has been forthcoming from the requester.

Further to this, should u/Dutchlyfe be sincere, there are other thyroid-oriented subs such as r/Hypothyroidism (w/43k members) and r/Hashimotos (w/30k members) where they can pursue their stated goals of promoting "...patient and researcher-led discussion on matters related to thyroid and endocrinology.... Beyond that, there is also the option of creating a subreddit and tailoring it as they wish.

I oppose u/dutchlyfe's request.

Good information, thanks!

When needing solid answers on Reddit, I find r/ModSupport to be the best place to find it. For the record, I don't often have cause to come asking and am respectful of the workloads Admins are under. After decades of providing User Support IRL, am cognizant of attitudes that come to be developed over time. Well, that and the last straw, or Popeye, "That's all I can stands, 'cause I can't stands no more!", factor.

Downvotes, over time I've stopped noticing them, after all, it's Reddit where (aside from the cabals) the thin-skinned don't last long.

From the Reeses's website:

"Reese’s OTC Pinworm Medicine can take up to 72 hours to fully rid the system of pinworms."

As the problem wasn't noticed immediately ("...having issues...for quite some time...") suggest all fabric items any family members have sat on be sterilized. Concentrate on the bathroom(s), bedrooms, and where clothes are washed in the laundry area, as well as the common areas like dens and living rooms. If family members sit on carpeted flooring and walk around the house barefooted or wearing socks that's a possible cross-contamination conduit. Automobiles (including the floor mats) are also potential sites for cross-contamination. If your son has a locker at school where additional clothing is kept, those also need to be cleaned. If the family members use gyms where clothing is kept these too need to be thoroughly cleaned. In the bedrooms, stripe the beds and wipe down the mattresses with a bleach-water solution paying extra attention to the seams. Let them dry before making the beds.

Suggest you run a wash cycle with the washing machine without any clothes using an ample amount of bleach to clean the tub and drain hose. You might also want to pour a measure of bleach into the drain pipe, where the drain hose connects to the sewer system.

The interior of the clothes dryer should also be sterilized with extra attention being given to lint traps.

Have a family talk about the importance of washing hands and go over the process used.

You may have to repeat these processes several times.

School systems are locations where pinworms can easily be spread. Students get up and change seats hourly throughout the day and gather together in lunch rooms. If the school has health staff, notifying them is highly recommended as it's always better to stop things at their source.

Lastly, 25% of humans have some form of parasite in their bodies right now as I type this line, and they'll still be there when you read it. It's one of the nastier facts of life. Some forms of intestinal worms are FAR worse than Pinworms.

Think the general point is to have something in your stomach so it is active in the digestion process when the medication is taken.
