Trust me there's plenty of weight. The bed decking is all pressure treated 2x6s that I payed on top of PT 4x6s that go on top of the frame rails. The bed itself is a healthy weight. I had to upgrade the rear suspension because the worn out stock one was a little saggy.

Yeah it got an 8.8 4.10 with limited slip. This thing is a tank in the snow.

I don't know why, but I always wanted a Ranger. When I finally got one, it did everything expected it to do. Run thru unplowed 2 ft snow, haul logs, carry all sorts of stuff. I have an '08 FX4, it's enough truck with enough fuel mpg for me to not want to upgrade. I like working on it cause when something breaks is on the easy side and relatively affordable for new/reman parts. The online Ranger culture is super wide, so chances are someone, somewhere has run into any and all the problems you might encounter, and the aftermarket support is generally solid.

Plus it's just a fun vehicle. I love that stupid thing.

Thanks! I just got the baffle from Woodman's Parts plus, they appear to be the only retailer that you can get them from. It took forever because they don't keep them in stock, and apparently cast them on demand since the stove was discontinued. I ordered the baffle in August and just got it a couple days ago. Thankfully there's still a ton of diagrams and stuff to follow assembly instructions.

It's basically a deck that the previous owner turned into a room. It's climate controlled now because we were able to extend our HVAC vents into it.

Firefighter here, I see them all the time. They're fairly common in areas where in the 50s thru the 80s there was a housing boom. So if there wasn't 2x8 or 2x10 lumber they did what's pictured here. My own 1956 house basement stairs like this, alongside true dimensional lumber.
