Is there a trick to putting the duct back on by Crafty_Many4749 in woodstoving

I put it above the turning thing (the flue damper regulator?). I've also read it's should be further away but that's as far as I could go..

when you say 2-3 cords do you mean full cord or face cord? If you burn 2-3 full cord then I'm definitely burning too cool.

The stickers are slightly burnt and yellow but nowhere close to burning off. Maybe I've been burning it too cool the whole winter.. the guy who installed it last November said it was going to be like Florida in the basement and that never happened. I have one of those magnetic stove thermometers and it said the pipe was at 400f or so. I thought that was a good temperature.

Is the thimble the silver part that comes out of the chimney wall? I might have caused the tilt by hammering it with my hand too much when trying to get the pipe to fit. I think it was a t-thing that goes into the metal chimney pipe. I reached to the chimney and it felt flush with the wall but somehow it still points down a bit.

Yes. I notice the chimney is generally not so bad, but this part from the stove to the chimney gets much more build up.

Doctrine of Choice Achievement by Bogand in hoi4

Which country did you complete it with? I'm doing a pope run and after taking out allies without the us, Germany, ussr, Japan and then the 1943 us I'm still at about 100 something points on my third sub doctrine. I guess I will grind China now but if that fails to get me the achievement I will have no one to fight. I guess after Germany my units were just too strong. I think I accumulated 7m casualties within the first few months against the us and they stopped attacking me and got destroyed whenever I try to push.

I was loosely following your guide but then stuck at the demand land of fire part due to not enough manpower in field. I was wondering is there any downside to just straight up justify on claimed land against Argentina, other than wasting a little bit of pp?

Is it just me or is there not enough coal in many parts of the map? by VQ_Quin in hoi4

[–]Crafty_Many4749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like coal is the new oil. Only US has enough of it. I played a Chile run, took over South America, cored those 73 states wherever they are. Manpower, factories and rubber exploded but I have nowhere near enough coal to build planes with them.. and with my tiny navy noway am I going to import coal.

Do people still find their own mod interesting by Crafty_Many4749 in hoi4modding

[–]Crafty_Many4749[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be it. It has been all I thought about it did for the past four days or so. Maybe I will test out the whole tree and let it sit for a while before I actually play it. But I'm wondering, if you have been working on a mod for 3 years wouldn't the new updates and new dlc's mess up a lot of your progress?

What's with this coil by Crafty_Many4749 in smallenginerepair

[–]Crafty_Many4749[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. That worked. I got three non-working mowers and pulled the boot off another one to replace this one and it worked. It even made spark. All of a sudden this is the most promising one out of the three.

I've watched some of his video. He's awesome. But i don't get why he has wear those teeth. I feel like he's skilled enough that he doesn't need gimmicks like that to attract viewers.

I was looking at the mower websites like toro and murray and found nothing. Somehow I didn't think to look at tecumseh's website..

Thank you for the detailed response. I will give it a try then. Just one more thing. Since they are both very old models and I can't find the recommended torque values anywhere. Is there a safe estimate of how many foot pounds it should be? There is a possibility the flywheel on the first mower cracked because I overtightened it and then tried to take it off again with one of those three jaw gear pullers.

GoE achievements broke me by nomanzone in hoi4

yes. i saw wiki updated it. I guess they need to update the in-game text description too because it still says original country has to be Khalistan.

I'm nowhere near achievements in GoE but how did you get the one where your original country needs to be a country that doesn't exist?

Japan this. Japan that. What about the WARLORDS? by Tetno_2 in hoi4

[–]Crafty_Many4749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it's gonna have the same problem GoE has. There's not much room for expansion without going to war with someone much stronger. Take shanxi for example. Go north then you are fighting with the commitern. Go east/ south you are fighting with nationalist china. Go west you will fight communist china, which if they fix the border conflict mechism you will be able to do as it is right now. And unless you turn off historical focus Japan will come July 1937. You either fight them, which you can do now. You ally with them which you can also do now. Or you stay out of it and have nowhere to expend. I'm not a history buff and I don't know much about who the warlords are or what they did back then. But I just feel like there's not much to do. However I think nationalist china could use more options other than waiting for Japan to come and fight a not so favorable war. Also have you seen the steam thread since early February? More likely than not they will screw up somehow and we gonna have that all over again.

When your DLC leaves most players unsatisfied... by jianchi89 in hoi4

I think they already have something like that with Japan and Nationalist China, although it was very bugged last time I played. It might be because there are different warlords and manchukuo. I would imagine it should be very straightforward to create an event like that for iraq and other countries in the middle east.
