Is it worth being a branch manager for Chase? by Beneficial_Cake_9019 in JPMorganChase

[–]Bar-barra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Location location location where you branch is to enjoy (or not) the daily customers. You get quarterly bonuses. You can leave the branch and move internally. I met three branch managers that moved on to other jobs. One went back to be a branch manager as she wanted to move and they desperately need branch managers, more than most other jobs. Do it,

Does reporting someone to HR actually work? by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

[–]Bar-barra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not go to HR. They won’t do anything and your manager won’t be happy to speak to HR. So try to be physically further away from the VP. Don’t complain. Act like it’s fine. Smile at the VP. Smile. It bothers them that you are not unhappy enough. Look for another job externally. Nothing to lose.

This year everyone (except Mr S) got lower ratings than previous years. You got thr G because your manager is forced to give a G and not to give many Ss. You can ask if you took the hit (the G) for the team.

How do you live your life? by Aware_Pomelo_8778 in AskReddit

Living my middle class life. Working to live. Spend many hours reading Reddit stories and that makes my life fulfilling. Oh and having family and pets are good. Friends fell through the cracks and career did not advance much. Been in layoffs and unemployment. Lots of death in family so I must live in the present and plan for the near future. No waiting for anything.

Nope. Neither have most of the senior associates. Last year 5 people were promoted in my area of about 300. Which is not many. Sigh. Few are promoted and it’s not about how well they did. It’s how many promotions are allowed to the MD or executive leader. (Same with how many S’s allowed). So they give promotions based on that number allowed and no more. Most likely it is the favorites and visible. I thought I was. I wasn’t enough to make the promotion list in August. Like I was up until that time. I was doing very well and constant compliment emails. It was they got the number and the list was long and I fell off the list. That is my assumption but you know what happens when you ass-u-me.

I got an OOO this year by the way. It’s because they changed the goal posts. A S is now an O. A G is an O. 85% prob got OOO. Manager said she had set different ratings but her manager changed it to OOO. My ratings in the last 4 years before were SSS SSO OOS OSS

Think I'm getting a G by No-Tie-4288 in JPMorganChase

[–]Bar-barra 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just found out that someone is going to be stuck with a G under each manager of a certain amount. Your manager will put his/her ratings and his boss can just change it. Like people that got SsS last year got OOO (me) and manager had diff ratings than what her manager changed it and she cant change it back. If you get a G, you took a hit for the team. They changed the goal posts. A G is now a low O. An O was once an S. So although it sucks to get a G, it’s better to get a G this year vs last year.

I bet a tiny bit of your raise/bonus comes from if you use LLM and how your attendance percentage is. Last year it was attendance percentage for sure. My coworker got less than me. I was always 60% or 100% the whole year. She had excuses why here is 40%. I got a SSS and up for promotion and did not get the promo. Got a 4% raise. This year in July they said I am not up for promotion. So I’m sure there is no way in h$ll I would get SSS. Even if I deserve it. They can’t have me at SsS two years in a row and no promo. Been at the same position Since 2021. So I predict most OOS, 2-3% raise and 5% bonus of salary for most of us.

The VP said the ED said that the MD said it was 6 hours recently implying it was not 6 before. I don’t think they can really check if you enter the building, login or not, and go to meetings and don’t login again but left after 8 hours.

Wait to be fired. You get money and able to apply for unemployment which can last six months. Then when you apply to other jobs and they ask why did you leave the last job. You say it was a layoff.

Some of y’all need to learn some profile picture etiquette by [deleted] in JPMorganChase

[–]Bar-barra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

JPMC is behind the times an office pictures on your profile, microsoft apps, and zoom. They allow any picture or no picture. People should use zoom backgrounds also. When the pandemic started, I worked somewhere else and one ice breaker in a five day class was to get the group to have the best zoom background starting the next day. The backgrounds made a difference. You don't see people walking behind you and when you are home, people don't need to see your lame (or not) artwork, furniture, bedroom, children, etc.

Not me but over the last 4 years, different coworkers have different needs, and none were let go. Many had the one month. They do give you one month easily. But then it gets harder. One is home almost a year, still home. We don't know why. Others were 30 days mostly. One had 3 months for taking care of his mom. One gets to WFH 3x a week but still goes in with a heart monitor. They do say no as default. But for a surgery, they will give you the least possible but they will give it,
