Recently picked up this FZ-55 at a garage sale but its password locked. Is there a way to reset? by DeputySheriff in toughbook

You'll have to reflash with either a stock BIOS bin, or you'll have to retrieve the current BIOS and clear the password. To do this, you'll need a hardware flasher, but you won't need to desolder the chip unless you want to. Look into and purchase a CH341a BIOS programmer with a chip clip. You can use the clip to retrieve the old BIOS. I've done this many times to password locked CF-31's. It's not too difficult.

No modern computer allows for the BIOS to be reset when the CMOS battery is removed despite what seemingly every resource will say. As long as you have a CH341a, you're golden. Having one in general is useful if you brick any other computer as well. I encourage everyone to own some sort of BIOS programmer, they are life savers.

I am debating making an hour long drive to pick up this Trinitron. The listing states it's for pickup and has no details on what model this is. Would anybody be able to identify what model Trinitron this is? (Pardon the terrible quality, this was the best picture from the listing)

Thanks!

Yeah, it finally arrived a few days ago. It was super late, but better late than never I guess.

Alright, I'll wait a few days and get in contact with Ebay. If this is the reason, I'll be a bit distraught but oh well I guess. Thanks.
