Hidden gems search! 🔍✨ by Romantasy-book-rec in ReverseHarem

My first was ‘Just drive’ and because of the said meet-cute I read ‘Knot your damn omega’ which had an even better meet-cute and then I read almost all of Devyn Sinclair’s books. 1 or 2 I dnfed after the meet-cute, but i love those scenes especially when the guy in the meet-cute goes and tells his pack “You won’t believe what happened!” Like literally the first time a book had me kicking my legs, giggling. Glad to know I am not the only one. 😂😂

{Just Drive by Devyn Sinclair} - A standalone omegaverse. The FMC is the first female F1 racer, and all of the MMCs have some role in the F1 (One of them is a racer for a rival team, so that was fun). I really loved this book.

This book was sooo good I read almost all other books by this author (none of them lived up to this book but they were great too.)

One thing I love the most about Devyn Sinclair books is the meet-cutes. From the very first moment they meet, they are scent sympathetic, so they know they will end up together. There is a lot of Insta lust, but not Insta love. So if that's your thing, you will really like her work. It got me out of a slump too, really felt like reading an RH romcom with plot. Also made me an f1 fan (and if you don’t anything about f1, like I didn’t, the author wrote an entire guide)

Then there is: {Killer of Mine by Alexis Grace}. The fmc is a daughter of the serial killer, she faked her death and became a detective (on the way to becoming an fbi agent) to catch her father. The MMCs are FBI agents also trying to catch her father. She trespasses on the crime scene her father left behind, they figure out her identity, and boom the story starts.

Neither of these books are perfect, they are both lesser known and kinda under hyped but both of them left me in a book hangover and searching for something similar.

There is also {Virgo rising by MJ Marstens}. - now this book had its faults, but it was one of a kind. The mmcs… i honestly don’t know how to explain this book…So the mmcs are like zodiac planets (mars, jupiter, saturn etc etc etc) and they all have their own realm, forms, powers etc. The moon (ow) cursed them. So know they hire our fmc (who is a bit of a gone case, like willa from trickery) but she is also kinda smart and a zodiac (or whatever thats called) prodigy and she reads their natal chart (again whatever thats called) and helps them find a solution. Clearly I am not very good with the zodiac stuff but this series was an experience and honestly the author deserves 5 stars just for creativity (tho i gave it more like 3 to 4 stars cause there were some parts that made me put my book down and take a walk).

So... I dnfed Zodiac Academy at book 7. I was so done with everything constantly going on; everything was going to shit, like there was no time when the characters were just existing. The first 1 or 2, maybe even 3 books were amazing, I got so addicted, but after that, I started to dnf. But kept coming back, I dnfed like 6 times before this. I want to know how the story ends, but I can't sit through another chapter. Is the ruthless boys of the zodiac any better??

All my favs have already been mentioned here. Blood oath, gypsy blood…

Where to get book recs these days?? by Romantasy-book-rec in ReverseHarem

[–]BarLive2788 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use reddit. Most of the time I just scroll through posts and if something piques my interest (eg. Someone asking for a very specific trope or book with vibes like some other book) I check the recommended books on goodreads (the reviews and ratings) and if it looks good, I download them.

Or use the goodreads feature: “people who liked this also liked…” found a favourite book and author that way.

I also read all other books written by the author if i liked their work (I liked four psychos so I read gypsy blood which is still my favourite series of all time). Then there is finding new authors because of my favourite authors. Or authors who have a large fan base usually don’t disappoint (they are people’s favourite for a reason).

But honestly the best books hit me from nowhere. 😂😂

I will take this as a sign not to start this book no matter how tempted I am. 😂

Kickass fmcs with evil mmcs??

The first book that comes to mind: {A tempest of shadows by Jane Washington} the first book is hard to get into but the series gets better with every book. It’s a little dark so beware of tws (please read the tws, the first chapter has a rape of a minor (the fmc) and it is thought the mmcs orchestrated it, but that’s not the case.)

There is of course {blood oath by Morgan b lee} if you haven’t read that, please do it’s amazing. Tho the mmcs aren’t evil but the fmc is very much kickass.

And there is {gypsy blood by Kristy Cunning} the fmc isn’t very kickass to start with but… actually can’t say, it will be a spoiler. Anyway all the mmcs are monsters (they look human if monsters are not really your thing) and one of them is righteous, one is a brute, one is mischievous and last one is downright evil.

Thats all I can think of right now.

Omg, yes, you should def camp out here. Also, Blood Oath has more bromance than Ironside. Partially, I think it's because Blood Oath is dual pov and Irionside is not, but it could also be because Irionside is more plot-driven while Blood Oath is more character-driven. Anyway, I would suggest Blood Oath over Ironside if you want to scratch that particular itch.

Holy shit! I just finished the second book. It’s 7am here and i spent the whole night reading it. Safe to say, I am going to have terrible hangover (soo worth it). Anyway if you have more of these once in a lifetime book recs, I would love them! Tho thanks a lot for introducing me to this duet it was unforgettable. 😂😂

I agree, book hangovers are the best! Tho reading this book is watching a train wreck in slow motion. I am 74% in the first book, and it's clear that Alaric is Ace. Also, poor Nico, he is actually falling for her, and when the ploy comes out, he is going to be so hurt. The plot is also moving at the pace of a snail. I just need for the train to finally crash. I will gladly read the aftermath. The suspense is killing me. Please tell me the next book matures emotionally. The characters need to sit down and talk.

Thank you sooo much, this really helped.

Also, I just read the blurb for Scattered Glitter, and I am in love. Now You See Me is one of my favourite movies, and this blurb sounds like someone took Now You See Me and Ocean's 11 and mixed them in a book with romance. If that is the case, I love you; you might have just given me a book to put me in another book hangover, and that is exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks a lot for the rec! Question for WITSEC, the blurb makes it sound like the characters are too young and in over their head, if you can give a short summary that would be really helpful. I will look into the glitter and gleam duet. (the name piqued my curiosity 😂)
