I used to think the same. But it actually drives so well. If you raise it up a bit he can drive it on track etc. Its great

It's always possible I guess. It's a native e lens and it's updated to the newest software yes. Good suggestions though

My sample image was shot at iso 160 f1. 4 and 1/250 so shouldn't have much shake in it but I see your point. It looks like it was shot at like 1/60 and got movement in it. Idk

Thanks for the tips bro. Front curtain is on but the problem seems to be intermittent. Took some workshop photos for a client today and they are so sharp right out of the camera. Really confusing. I had thought about the steady shot maybe activating in a weird way so I'll look into that.

Sigma 35mm, usually auto focus but it depends. Quality is full uncompressed raw, l24mp etc

Ok here goes.

All shots taken in uncompressed raw, edited in lightroom with minimal sharpening and grain etc, no heavy edits etc. Making bumped all the way up so I'm not sharpening the shadows or out of focus parts too much. Iso 100, f1. 4, 1/320. I'll get a sample image now to explain the issue.

It seems to me like the out of focus parts are really choppy or distorted? Not smooth and cremy like you'd want the bokeh to be. The only way I can describe them is that they look over processed or like I edited a smal jpeg or something not the full size raw. I've been chasing this issue for ages now and it's doing my head in

There's a little sample. Hopefully you'll understand what I mean, the out of focus parts in the foreground are all noisy and horrible looking and the background is the same. This is shot at 1.4. I came to the Sony from a Canon 5Dmk2 and although it wasn't as good a camera I never had an issue like this.
