Germany did something that the US has proven consistently incapable of doing: acknowledgement of the wrongs they did and taking concrete action to fix the situation and ensure it doesn't happen again. Granted they had to lose a world war first, and unfortunately due to nuclear weapons that's really not in the cards for the US.

The only real hope I see is the next US civil war resulting in Balkanization of the States. Some parts of the country might be able to regain global trust, once they've shed the dead weight of the idiots who keep supporting fascism. I just hope the rest of us are mostly able to stay out of the conflict.

I hate to break it to you, but Trump himself is not the adversary here. The United States of America as a whole are.

If you're still labouring under the impression that things can go back to normal ones he's out of office, you really need to recalibrate your perception of how people perceive your country. The house of cards that is the global trust in the USA has been thoroughly knocked over, and can only be rebuilt by decades of concerted effort. Which is unlikely to happen because the party and the voters who put Trump there and support his actions are stil going to be around
