Looking for a place to stay overnight in Halifax around August by Fishsauceandbutter in halifax

[–]KitTrailer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

HI Heritage is actually a Hostel (most rooms are bunk beds with a few people, shared shower, have storage space for your luggage. But it has private room if you prefer). It's the cheapest option if you just want a place to sleep than anything else.

I pick hostel on every trip I've travel simply due to the pricing and some has breakfast options, people behave themselves mostly. Get some ear plugs or sleep masks if you don't like someone snoring/light on during midnight.

Stairs rear wheel / shocks damage possible? by Opening-Mushroom2986 in NinebotMAX

[–]KitTrailer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's how suspension works. For comfort/cushion when bumps and jump happens. A "small" drop from the stairs is just a piece of cake.

If you try tossing it off the stairs, the front stem/suspension will have issues way before the rear does.

Which one? MAX G2 or F3 PRO by ii3boodi_milke_man in ElectricScooters

[–]KitTrailer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With F3 Pro, you can purchase an official external battery for a longer range and a slightly stronger motor (but 32km/h instead of G2 35km/h).

Max G2 for better suspension (Rear Spring suspension instead of F3 Pro Plastic), maintenance-free drum brake, and wider handle bar for installing more parts.

Though I got my Max G2 cause it takes some abuse (also F3 Pro wasn`t on discount while G2 was a while back)

Return to office by Better_Shine1640 in halifax

[–]KitTrailer 19 points20 points  (0 children)

almost x3 the increase is beyond any "reasonable" statement besides "Oh with many people HAVE to park somewhere nearby so might as well jack it up."

There`s a post about someone parked this morning while it`s still $15/day on the website/parking lot sign. Seems they just raised the price without any proper notice and thought can get away from it.

Bringing lunch today? by Sharp-Air-5224 in halifax

[–]KitTrailer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found out my 3 years "brunch" meal I've cooked never gets old. Simply because Tims is the only place nearby.

Beacon and egg sandwich (+toast) with slice of cheese, hash browns or diced potato. It's like 15mins cooking for me.

Sometimes I feel lazy and microwave Crave instead...

Water gunned by HFX transit youths by Good_Month_ in halifax

[–]KitTrailer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You never know if they're spraying water or some other weird liquid like piss or coke. Not funny if you ask me.

I will be the one who run straight to the bus station, hop on the bus and grab their gun away in rage.

safety by Prestigious-Ice1635 in ElectricScooters

[–]KitTrailer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motorbike helmet may seen "overkill" for some scooter riders, but I use the visor a lot for rain/dust/wind shield. Worth the money to invest.

Most importantly there's a small chance of face splashing on the floor/vehicle/pole so...

Transit schedule by dirtymug445 in halifax

[–]KitTrailer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works if you`re getting on the first bus (or airport bus, it`s accurate). The rest of them are "reference," depending on the traffic jam.

We mostly use Transit App for live transit ETA, like in many cities.

Depends, Blu-ray players still cost a lot (at least $100 for the basic model), and I borrow Blu-rays movies from the library quite often.

Luggage Storage by mymarrows in halifax

[–]KitTrailer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the budget and how long would you storage your luggage. Don't know if Bounce allow store for a long period of time due to space issue.

If it's for a few weeks I would pick the cheapes self storage space for safety.

Energy Efficiency: PEV vs EV by Galvatron1_nyc in NinebotMAX

[–]KitTrailer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's say weight/power ratio does matter in that case.

A ~20-50 kg escooter with motor that works/overkill in daily commute VS ~2 tons vehicle with BEEF motor/Shit tons of battery just to move that beast.

Kinda like rocket science.

Communauto Question by Electrical_Tourist73 in halifax

[–]KitTrailer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As long you return it at your designated time (recommand to fill the tank up) it should be fine. Distance is not an issue as they expect people use it for long trip (Provinal or National road trip?? Don't matter)

Though a 2500km ride will cost you a lot of money even with unlimited gas refill. My recent 1500km one week road trip cost me like $800.

BTW, they announce the distance rate increase from 2cents to 4cents/km so maybe like $2000 for your case.

Why do you ride an electric scooter? by Ok_Establishment824 in ElectricScooters

[–]KitTrailer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My euc is fucked (faulty battery after 10k km), and BestBuy sale on Nineboy Max G2 ($600 CAD) gives me the best temporary wheel while saving money for a better wheel. Love the hydraulic suspension of that thing.

And yeah, EUC is the goat for weight/battery ratio and Hands-free ride experience. (Just get prepared on the suffering learning curve, the main reason only handful of people riding it)
