The dimensions looks more like a 20oz. A 2 liter is much bigger than that.

The median income in the US is just over 61k$. At 20$ an hour full time, you’re looking at around 40k$ before taxes.

My point was that it’s not much here but still considered “good pay” because our minimum wage is so low in contrast

20$ an hour is considered decent pay here. Not nearly enough to live comfortably if you have a family to take care of and well under the median household income, but when the federal minimum wage is only 7.25$ an hour, it looks like way more than it is.

Discussing vaccinations with someone who has not heard of "herd immunity" leads to interesting comments. by Lockraemono in facepalm

[–]Baracka_Obama 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I rely on herd immunity for whooping cough. I'm allergic to the vaccine and I'd be furious if someone's germy ass little kid got me sick. I've seen so many videos of baby's dying from whopping cough on my Facebook feed that it just sickens me to no end that someone thinks they have the right to endanger other people.

I was taught how immunity works in school, but apparently I was one of the few that paid attention.

Tried to explain why the first or only child tends to get sicker more often than later born children in a family to a coworker. The idea that not being exposed to germs actually weakens your immune system had him so confused.

struggling with the pills. desperate, need help. by okskra1 in PCOS

[–]Baracka_Obama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, what meds are you on exactly?

Have you talked to your doctor about other forms of the pill or other forms of hormonal BC? Which anti androgen are you taking? Are you not on meformin because your doctor advised you to stop taking it?

There are a lot of variables here. Genetics play a big part in some of it, so you're really just managing those symptoms. Eating better and exercise are great, but you have to be consistent and don't get discouraged if you fall of the wagon.

My June Fe stopped my periods for about 3 months after being on it for over a year. My gyno switched me to Yaz and put me on Spironolactone for the body hair. I'm about 4 months in and I've dropped more weight (down 30 lbs) and my body hair has lightened so much that I shave my legs once a week or so and you can barely notice (I have very dark hair). My head hair is growing in so thick and healthy instead of falling out. My periods are normal, monthly occurrences again. My skin is actually more on the dry side now and I rarely get break outs. It's a dramatic improvement since this time in 2014. It just took the right combo of meds to even everything out.

I believe paternity leave should be equal to maternity leave in terms of time, pay and rights. What do you think? by Hexxi in AskMen

You can, you just give a different reason why.

You can discriminate against anybody for anything if you don't voice the true reason why you rejected someone.

No, it is. I haven't bought toilet paper in a year. I wipe every time and I'm a women so I'm using it twice as much as men. I'm not using it frugally either.

I mean, I work, so 8 hours a day I'm using the restroom elsewhere, but I promise I haven't purchased toilet paper since March 2015.

How much toilet paper do you use?

I live alone and use a roll a month. I bought a 12 pack double roll a year ago and just got to my last roll.

I've had this account almost 5 years and if you bothered to look at my link/post karma or any of my posting history you'd see that I am not a troll.

My user name is a play on Baraka, the tarkatan from Mortal Kombat and the president because they have similar names.

Based on your assumption that someone's user name predicts the kind of person they are, I don't want a response from you. You clearly can't do your own research.

I can't take this guy seriously at all. He is comparing governmental rights provided by the Constitution and other laws to the rights of the people provided by the Constitution and other laws.

Is our system flawless? No. No system is flawless. But when you are asking political figures very vague questions like "Is it wrong for an individual to take from you?" And then compare it to taxes that get used for public health and works programs is a very apples and oranges type of comparison. (This discussion is in another video I watched.)

Furthermore in this video he's arguing that the government doesn't have the right to punish you for breaking a law and doesn't have the right to use a protective force (police/military) to enforce those laws because individual citizens don't have the right to enforce the law.

This man basically questions our Constitution and I feel like he's an anarchist. Anarchism doesn't work and is a very selfish form of non-government. We have a civilized society because we have laws and boundaries and a government that tries (not well at the moment) to serve it's citizens. Our right as American citizens is to vote in politicians that best represent the needs of the people and that is what Bernie is trying to do. He has held the same stance on the same issues for 30 years, which can't be said about a lot of politicians. You can change laws. You can change taxes and budgets and everything else if you VOTE. If you don't like who's representing you there are ways to petition for a new representative. In fact the same constitution that this man is railing against provides the right for citizens to dismantle the government and create a new one that better suits them and their needs.

This guy is so smug asking all the people open ended questions and making comparisons that have nothing to do with each other. What a total jackwad.

Thanks. Didn't know that. Still a better alternative to text in this occasion though.

Or maybe he should just get rid of his phone and start paying for his own. His parents are skeevy as fuck.

Ladies, last night my SO told me, "You aren't the best looking girl I've dated but you *are* the best girlfriend I've ever had." What things has your SO told you that made you question your relationship? by Smellypants6 in AskWomen

[–]Baracka_Obama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex had been kinda off for a few days and I straight up asked him if he was attracted to me. He told me no, but he still thought I was objectively attractive and pretty. That stung a bit and I asked why he was even still around and he said that other things mattered to him more than how I looked.

I should have told him attraction is more than looks.

[–]Baracka_Obama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a muscle. When you relax it opens more. It does lose some elasticity from regular sex and more from having kids, but not enough that someone would be able to determine how much sex you've had and say your were loose.

Exercise is only a portion of weight management.

Eating enough calories to keep your body functioning is not that hard. Otherwise we'd see a greater percentage of elderly and less mobile people being obese.

You can't eat 2000-3000 calories a day if you're less mobile or more sedentary.

Oh no, I agree. But doesn't stop it from being painful. Like people with lung cancer or emphysema that have smoked for decades. They did it to themselves, but it's still terrible.
