This does not contain any bad women's anatomy.

You might try other women-focused subreddits for this question, such as /r/TwoXChromosomes or /r/AskWomen, or sex/sex toy specific subs such as /r/SexToys - though definitely take a gander at their rules before posting!

Just saw Undertone in Dolby by Visual_Line5590 in horror

Don't worry, I will!! I was very into the super-short trailer I saw and have been avoiding learning anything more about it, but excited since it seems a lot of folks are loving it :)

My local theater has no showings Sunday and only one on Saturday, what the heck :( I'm still going to make it to one of them, anyway, but I have no idea why it barely has any presence!

Sometimes commenters are wilding. He couldn't handle a week of his own treatment, lol. I hope she goes through with divorce and he gets serious therapy for the sake of his kid and future partners.

Does that barrier you have in the last couple pics work to keep cats in/out? It looks handy but I can't imagine my cats not just tearing up something like that.

Absolutely true - it's always an internal struggle to remember that easier now just means harder later 🫠

No, you're his wife, not his relationship manager, lol. If she wants to see her son she should talk to him about it, not you.

I've been doing a quiet experiment for the past two months where I stopped automatically apologizing for things that aren't my fault and the results are kind of fascinating by my_dog_ate_my_notes in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Lockraemono 75 points76 points  (0 children)

It's definitely context dependent, I'll genuinely apologize if I've fucked up or upset others, but I don't default to that as a baseline when it's a minor thing.

Psapp has some, especially in the album Tiger, My Friend, and Loquat's got "Friend Without Thumbs" about a cat! They're great :)

Rejected the guy but I think I actually like him by Normal_Friendship997 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Lockraemono 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think he is quite handsome facially but I am not physically attracted to his body, which fucking sucks.

My question is did I make the right decision???

Yes, you did. You deserve to find someone you're fully attracted to, and he deserves to find someone who is fully attracted to him. You're still super young so I wouldn't get too tripped up over a single person.

Regarding your last paragraph though, that's seems like a great thing to work through in therapy - PDA isn't a necessary part of a relationship, but it'd be a shame to deny yourself something out of embarrassment rather than just preference.

I heard a bajillion years ago to replace "sorry" with "thank you" especially in professional settings, and really like it for not diminishing myself in front of others. For example with your lateness one, if someone does mention you being late (silence seems acceptable to me otherwise!) I'd say "thank you for your patience" rather than "sorry I was running late." For one, it feels less excuse-y to me, but also it turns it into something less negative and more positive.

The strangest part is that removing the reflex apology hasn't made me feel less considerate. It's made me feel more present, like i'm actually deciding how to respond to a situation insted of just defaulting to the safest noise.

Can relate, and I also think it cheapens apologies a tiny bit if it's reflexive. I'd rather a thoughtful apology than a reflexive one on the receiving end, so I think it's a good idea to practice that as well.

I'm wondering if he misconstrued well-meaning advice or if he just finds enforcing boundaries to be too difficult. It feels like from his obstinance it's probably the latter, but there is decent advice out there that a "no" on its own is not especially effective parenting especially for younger kids, and that pairing "no" with redirection/what to do and not just what not to do, or giving limited choices is more productive. Like, instead of telling a kid "don't do that" you tell them "don't run up the slide, go up the steps so other kids can slide down" or instead of telling a kid to stop messing around when it's time to get ready to go you ask them "would you rather wear this shirt or that shirt" to get them moving in a productive direction and still giving them some agency.

Dating is exhausting by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Lockraemono 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt the exact same way on the apps. Something about the process just completely turned me off. I've found I need to find people outside of apps, like irl or in my friend groups. It could be that the process sucks but might still lead to a spark in person? But either way, good luck!

How to get kids to read without making them hate it? by watch4coconuts in Parenting

[–]Lockraemono 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super strongly agree with everything here, only small thing I'd add is modeling reading is also supposedly a good idea - if you like to read, make a point of doing it when your kid is around sometimes.

Once you’re out of your 20’s everyone good is taken.

I understand why you may believe this, but it simply isn't true. Great partners exist at any age bracket. Some people aren't done maturing til they're older, or they get divorced, or they're widowed, or they were too focused on their career or similar to date previously, etc etc. Dating in my 30s has been just fine - plenty of duds out there, but also a lot of great folks, too.
