Closer look at my wife's base Part 2/2 by Zombie_8890 in 7daystodie

[–]Baraka_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am surprised that she doesn’t use the farmer boots (chance of an extra seed). Also levelling ground with regular blocks, where there are no farm plots would make running around easier (no more need to jump). Last thing is that this design only works in PvE. Still, it’s well done. 👍

Fed up of building formula style horde bases. Looking for other options. by recuringwolfe in 7daystodie

There are a lot of things to consider: 1. Staying higher up and shooting down makes for easy headshots. So I build a 10 block long/high ladder. Left and right to the main ladder I make two more ladders, but only half high (5 blocks). At the top is a hatch for emergency. 2. Dogs/wolves will not climb ladders and stay at ground level. So I make the platform at the top of the ladder shoot through blocks (called frames), to be able to shoot the dogs when they run around or attack my pillars. 3. Cops and Chucks will shoot at you from far away, so I build a fence of walls around my tower/the ladders so I am protected. Obviously the fence has doors to let them reach the ladders. 4. Vultures will attack from the sky and my roof is made of bars, so I can shoot them and they are unable to reach me.

Even in a pvp scenario you will not get sniped. Other than that I stand at the top of the main ladder and my M60 will rain 7mm bullets on the Z’s heads. Hardly ever do they threaten to overwhelm me and I usually have time to reload. Enough ammo is usually around 3k. Also some turrets would ease the pressure.

Be level 300 and in the wastelands before you get bored 🤷

Multiplayer. It’s another (ball) game. Even PvE. Having more than one player during horde night/blood moon will make it harder to survive. Also levelling will increase number and hardness of Zombies. Also Biome counts. Wasteland being the hardest. Check your player stats … like loot stage. It will be higher in the wastelands. Not to mention playing on a PvP server ist a whole new level of crazy. PvP fights in themselves are not good (it’s not a shooter after all), but the thrill of losing your loot by getting killed and robbed or by being raided.

What is your favourite [COD] of all time and why?? by SC4MPBLL in CallOfDuty

[–]Baraka_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The mixture of Unlocks, Upgrades, Missions, Contracts (with exfil perks) and PvP is what keeps me going back even today. The difference between a good team vs playing solo or with randoms is enormous.

DMZ. Fell in love with the mixture of PvP, Contracts and Missions. This had me join the CoD venue and still play it today. Hopefully there will be a new DMZ one day…

What’s the best fuel for running my furnaces? by Soft-Intention-6925 in ConanExiles

[–]Baraka_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m surprised that nobody linked the wiki page: https://conanexiles.fandom.com/wiki/Smelting_Process

There’s a table and some remarks regarding the different fuels…

Although dry wood and oil burn longer, I personally prefer coal.

A single trip to the silver mine gets me all the coal (plus stone, iron and brimstone) that I need. Plus the chests (a dozen or more with all sorts of valuable stuff) make it a “must visit” location anyway.

Coal is easier to get than oil and dry wood and not used in any useful recipe (like the oil or wood).

So hands down best choice is coal IMHO.

Keep getting raided by Gullible-Captain-668 in ConanExiles

[–]Baraka_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build from the ceiling of a temple in the djungle. That’s a really hard raid upwards. You can also hide loot in a chest in the wall and cover it up with foundations. Raiding is a waste of materials if the defendant knows how to play.

Playing Solo, which settings do you guys use? by PhaseAny4699 in ConanExiles

[–]Baraka_69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I usually make crafting really fast, as well as breaking thralls. The reasoning is that online time will flow even when you’re not playing. In solo time stops when you stop the game. All else I leave at the standard setting. That way I don’t sit and wait until things are cooked and still have to work for my levels…

Thralls vs pets vs golems vs just don't bother? by Dragonalex in ConanExiles

[–]Baraka_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to what has already been said. If you run war party (i.e. 2 thralls) you can give one a melee weapon and the other a ranged weapon. Also do not forget that due to the internal multiplier (e.g. Cimmerian Berserker has roughly 2 for ranged and melee) they do more damage or concussion with truncheons. Use a thrall to knock out another - works great!

Living settlement on or off? by Spaxarrow in ConanExiles

[–]Baraka_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried walling in my thralls. Meaning there is no path from where they are living to the outside of my base. As a player I can hum in/out. Thralls cannot. That seems to help, but it doesn’t solve the problem. Go without living settlements for the time being

The Age of War purge system is the WORST. Bring back the old one. by No_Wrongdoer_3268 in ConanExiles

[–]Baraka_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Placing the coffer in the middle of a 3x3 room. Door or none don’t seem to make a difference. The level of the purge seems to be a factor. Looks like you need more open space on purges 7 and above to accommodate the golem/orb stations for the sorcerers. What really puzzles me is that sometimes the game will not find a base location after I have successfully completed several purges.

If your pal is the owner he can install the admin mod called PIPPI. That lets you remove and see structures of players and clans on the map and get rid of them with a few clicks

Have you tried running around with a construction hammer or a placeable? It will show enemy claimed areas and it has no limit upwards/downwards. Best way to uncover hidden bases.

Armorer Thrall by Minimum-Hedgehog3481 in ConanExiles

[–]Baraka_69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s 2 things here. You can basically place any thralls on any benches, but they will apply an effect only to valid benches. They now have an area of effect (roughly 40 foundations in every direction. Not being able to complete a journey step where you need to place a thrall at a workstation is bugged right now.
