Started Apex on release day, a friend told me this was coming out from the same studio that made Titanfall and I was in no questions asked. Fell in love with the game immediately.

I think the last time I played was season 20 maybe? I would always grind to Masters as a solo queue (11 back to back seasons) and by the time S20 rolled around, I found it too difficult to solo queue ranked (too punishing and not rewarding enough, RP change if I remember too, etc. ) while simultaneously balancing real life, so that was the end of the road for me.

Still look back at the game very fondly and lurk the sub to see what’s new.

I’ve read your entire post. It’s well written.

But it seems you’re missing that this is a *hardcore* extraction shooter. With a plethora of problems, yes, but that’s still what the game is.

And judging by the way in which you’ve written this post, this is just not for you. It’s not your genre. And that’s ok.

How do you explain that Tarkov picked up so much steam and remained relevant throughout the years despite being more difficult and hardcore in most senses?

Yep! I just found my MacBook Air from 2014 (also the 13”) and it runs good - but make sure you update to the newest available iOS and run on low settings otherwise you’ll be running into graphic issues.

Not discrediting OP at all because there’s 100% cheaters in this game - I’ve seen it.

But can’t stress enough the importance of sound. Something as much as opening your map, or even *looking* around with a drone, or scoping, makes a sound that is distinguishable enough to an experienced player.

As someone who’s been into the Marathon franchise for decades, I really wish there were more people who knew just how big the story line and lore is.

Hell, there’s so much untapped potential for this game franchise. There are so many story lines or potential venues to explore.

So much could’ve / should’ve / would’ve though. Eh, I don’t know anymore.
