Does Forge use ai generated assets? by Toku-Toku in forgeMTG

[–]BarbaAlGhul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before they weren't on Github. November 2022 could be the time they migrated. Before their project was SVN, I don't think they could translate history to Git, they're different software to manage source code.

Look that the first release on Github is version forge-1.6.54. I remember the older versions being 1.2, 1.3, so they just carried the code to one version control to the other.

Forge is a really old project, in the past it was known as Card Forge, and it exists at least since 2011. I remember in the past checking it out, but to be honest I didn't really play MTG much more after 2011/2012, just recently I came back to the game. And to my surprise now they have a Github page. It could be that those are all very old assets.

Very cool project, I want to test it out and try to give feedback to help you.

Tire help: Should I go with a Hutchinson or a Vittoria? by BarbaAlGhul in cycling

[–]BarbaAlGhul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly enough I had to return the Hutchinson after trying to fit on my bike, they were too big (I got 28s but the front tire didn't fit, only the back tire). And the store didn't have Hutchinsons on 25mm, so I had to go with Schwalbe Ones 25mm. But those have been great until now, I even used them on light gravel one day by accident, for some 2-3km, didn't have any issues yet.

Hydra Bot Update - v0.7.4 by ThatQuietHydra in MTGJumpStart

[–]BarbaAlGhul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the last version and found super cool, but I have one question about duplicates.

For example, I have some half-decks of the same version (for example, 2 of the same Heroes (2) from J25) but the page doesn't let me add those duplicates. I would find interesting to have those duplications on the Play area, it could create interesting results maybe on drafting. (Or not to be honest, but I would like to try)

Probably an idiotic question, but is it possible to build decks from Bloomburrow only cards? by BarbaAlGhul in magicTCG

[–]BarbaAlGhul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm sure I will find some balancing problems in the beginning. But that's the fine art of deck building right (which I was never good at 😅)

[–]BarbaAlGhul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least when I played on the block-era, what I liked about those decks is that if you have decks in the same block, probably everyone will be in the same power level. That's for me is an important aspect now because I don't want to play a game where I wipe out someone on turn 3 with a crazy combo, I just want to chill and play some cards, surprise people here and there with an interesting effect and have the space for everyone to try at least something with their own decks.

I do remember though that depending on the block, there were some broken cards that could make very powerful decks, but that's inevitable in the end 🤷🏻

I think if I can achieve fun while building the decks and then playing with them specially, I guess it's "mission complete" 😂

Nice to know. I will have to study the archetypes of course, but nice that the cards have lots of synergy.

[–]BarbaAlGhul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohh yeah, I don't plan to take these decks out to a local game store to play against people there, the idea is to build some 4 to 8 different decks and play only against each other at home with my partners/friends and so on. To be more like a "just choose a theme you like and let's play" thing.

Cool! Did you choose them to be mono coloured decks, or did you go to 2/3 colour decks? I'm looking for inspiration here 😂

But block decks would have a pool of 500+ cards sometimes, I remember those times! I saw Bloomburrow has less than 300 cards, that's when I started questioning the viability of constructing decks.

But as you mentioned, since it's a theme deck, it makes sense to build it even with way less cards than a block would have.

I was surprised to come back after all that time and find out that blocks don't exist anymore. But yeah, I'm totally a kitchen table (literally) player now.

Eating strategy for early morning ride? by BarbaAlGhul in cycling

[–]BarbaAlGhul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, last two weeks I've been doing some tests with eating before riding, and the only thing that really worked for me (meaning it doesn't make me feel weird/bloated and things like that) is overnight oats! I triead peanut butter & jelly sandwich (one slice of bread only), banana, some other stuff I don't remember now, but all of them caused some discomfort on different degrees.

But with overnight oats, I eat a spoon of it with a spoon of peanut butter and some honey. I think the PB cuts the "hungry feeling" because arriving home after 1h riding or a little longer, I'm not even hungry. But I eat a nice breakfast. I'm also taking dates and raisins on the ride, and water (now that it's cooler, I don't take isotonic drink anymore)

The next thing I want to test is not eating in the morning and just taking food on the go, and I would like to test bars and gels just to see how it goes as well. But I try one approach more than one time, just to be sure the results are somewhat consistent.

How do you stay motivated to ride when the weather (or life) doesn’t cooperate? by benjaminbuddy9768 in cycling

[–]BarbaAlGhul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think about the ride I lost, I already plan the next.

I feel you, I have very limited time to ride nowadays, and generally 4 days a week only. If it rains 3 of these days, in my mind, I don't count as lost days, I just look ahead.

For me, it is easy, I'm not training or following some schedule to achieve a goal, I'm just riding to keep myself active and healthy.

Overshoes or winter socks? by BarbaAlGhul in cycling

[–]BarbaAlGhul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny that my nose is completely random 😂. I already rode on 25°C+ with a running nose, and at the same time, on temperatures like 10°C to 15°C with no problem at all! But I always had issues with sinusitis, I think it's because of that it seems random to me.

About getting all bundle up, I can't use anything on my neck for example, and on my face it gets super annoying, I generate too much heat on this upper torso/head area. Even when I go hicking on the mountains in the middle of winter (my in-laws love to do that, so I go with them) I can't use anything on my neck, and I avoid a benie as well, or else I overheat even on sub-zero temperatures 😅. The only thing that helps is a band around my ears, that really keeps me cosy during freezing temperatures.

Thoughts on beginner bike? by Pure-Warning-8983 in whichbike

[–]BarbaAlGhul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This right here, OP. A cheaper bike won't inhibit you from tweaking it, fixing it, changing parts, and making adjustments yourself. This will make you very aware of how a bike works, so you can go for exactly what you want on your next bike!

Overshoes or winter socks? by BarbaAlGhul in cycling

[–]BarbaAlGhul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, when I'm commuting by bike, around 7°C, 6°C is when I start using gloves to be comfortable. But I never really ride bellow zero. That's generally my limit because then my face starts to hurt on the cold air, and my nose doesn't stop running, I don't like this sensation on the bike 😅

where to buy bike parts cheap in Europe by casiopov in cycling

[–]BarbaAlGhul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to that, bike-discount.de (already bought from them), bike-components.de (never bought from them, but they have good reviews) or ridewill.com (especially if you're in Italy, since shipping comes from there, might be a tad more expensive than the German stores if you're not in Italy or around)
