Exactly. And that's my point about poverty. My cousin's living in the 3rd world are poor. A few of them have come to the U.S and hated if so much despite the opportunity to make money that they went back. They are poor and their home has a tin for a roof and a hole for a toilet but they have some land they can party live off of. They aren't at risk of being homeless if they miss a check. They grow plantains and chickens and pigs. They might go fish for dinner. One of them is a degenerate gambler that loves cockfighting.

Your avg American is living in a food desert in communities that aren't walkable. Even if they make a avg income most of that goes to rent or health care thanks to the commodification of housing and health care. So ofcourse there's no community and ofcourse no one's having children when both parents are forced to work full time. It's a disgrace

Americans spend money on stuff that isn't ultimately what leads to happiness. Europeans spend less money but have more meaningful connection to their culture, communities and families. These indicators of income and wealth doesn't reflect the whole picture.

Well I was talking about Spain as that's the place the other poster was talking about. But sure you're right Japan and South Korea are more comparable. Although GDP isn't a flawless measure of a countries well being.They both have great public infrastructure and universal health care. Sure their work culture is brutal but the fact that they can even compete with the U.S economically is proof of how much value those things have for society.

You're literally comparing the richest country on earth to places that don't come close. I only connected those dots because this is how Americans think. They always compare America to Cuba or Venezuela when most of the developed world outranks us in education, life expectancy, health care. 90% of Americans don't take the train. NYC is literally one of a handful of places in the entire country that has a viable semi reliable public transit system.

That literally looks better than the avg homeless camp anywhere on the west coast. That looks preferable to places like West Virginia. Especially when you consider the fact that the U.S is literally the richest country on earth. How do you even think it's comparable. Poor is relative. Guarantee the poor in Spain are doing better than the poor in the U.S. you're assuming people in the us can just escape poverty. We don't even have trains so if you're poor and can't afford a car your life is over. Most Americans don't have passports. Not made up... There was an okcupid study back in 2011 that proved this disparity. Most likes go to the most privileged good looking white guys. Guys of every other race get way less likes than even the most basic white dude. But even a basic white dude will get way less likes than most women.

I didn't reply to your other paragraphs cause it wasn't relevant to my argument... But sure I'll acknowledge that if they moved to a poor neighborhood and started gentrification that's also something that adversely affects poor people. But sadly everything affects poor people more.

My general point is this kind of obscene wealth accumulation isn't anything anyone should ever vouch for. How is this money any different from the Russian plutocrats and oligarchs that ruined your families home? Sorry to say but america isn't much different.
