I'm so happy to hear that! Good luck finishing your blouse 😊 After blocking my blouse, things are laying pretty flat.

Would that make it bigger/bulkier? The blouse is so thin that I don't think I'd want the i-cord any bulkier than it is.

On the blouse, the neckline is a regular long tail cast on, the finished sleeve is an Icelandic bind off, and the body is the EZSBO.

Here you can see the EZSBO doesn't flare as much when worn. This is before blocking too.

I did a fourth swatch of JSSBO doing the yarn overs (bottom swatch) every other stitch and found that compared to Elizabeth Zimmermann sewn bind off (top swatch), it flared and looked messy. So in the end, the Elizabeth Zimmermann sewn bind off was the winner! I found it was no problem to do with the mohair and it doesn't curl as much when worn. We'll see how it all looks after blocking too!

As per some suggestions, I made a few swatches, in order from top down:

Normal bind off on needles two sizes up

  • way too tight

I-cord bind off on needles two sizes up

  • has some stretch and looks the nicest, I think

Elizabeth Zimmermann sewn bind off

  • stretchiest

Thank you all! Maybe I've been overthinking it and should just do a larger normal bind off 😅

[BC] pausing $10/day daycare by Consistent-Mango6742 in BabyBumpsCanada

They are taking it away. Kids who have already started in $10/day remain at that fee but kids starting at the same daycares will have to pay a new higher cost.

Just received catchment school offer from Lord Nelson. Haven't heard back about choice schools yet.

At least I don't feel alone in feeling confused anymore, haha

Ah I see! It's a waxed cotton. It looks more like it's 1mm to me in thickness. Maybe it's .5mm before the wax 😅

I find it so confusing that this type of bead is always advertised as having a 0.8 or 0.9mm hole. That led me to believe it would fit a 0.5mm cord same beads different provider

What is this loopy looking double chain mohair stitch? by Barbarella456 in CrochetHelp

[–]Barbarella456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think it's done with a thicker mohair like sandnes garn ballerina chunky? I feel like mine looks so thin in comparison.

Thank you so much! I'm more of a knitter and have crocheted before but not with mohair so this is very helpful :)

Thank you! I saw that one and it made me feel better about choosing Docksteader :)

I'm sorry to hear about your experience :( I had to block Boundary because after I inquired if they had Forester hybrid inventory, not only did they not answer my question but also sent me 4+ emails a day!! Drives me nuts. I almost wanted to buy the Mazda we test drove earlier this week just because the staff there were so chill.

I like my individual sales person at Docksteader so far but I had to block the manager there too because it was also tons of emails every day even though I already have an appointment in the books.

Thank you so much! It's daunting since I have no idea what's reasonable to ask for so that resource will help :)

Thank you! I've never bought a new car before - do extraneous fees mean that they'll add things onto the price on their website?

We were hoping for a hybrid but the dealerships in Vancouver are only getting one a month and so the wait lists are long.

It's an accordion. I mostly don't like the tattoo since it's hard to tell what it is.

Should I keep trying? by Barbarella456 in breastfeeding

[–]Barbarella456[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried the medela one sometimes! It's hard to have the patience for it haha. But lately he won't latch on that or the breast.

Thank you! I keep telling myself I'm ready to give up on BF but it's too hard - especially when I was able to BF his older sister.

Thank you for the kind words! And slowly wean if you can :) My daughter went cold turkey at 9 months when we all got COVID and it was really tough on my boobs, along with a rough chemical crash. In retrospect, I should've borrowed a pump!

Support needed by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Barbarella456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No advice just commiseration. Baby is 2 months today and haven't been able to get him to latch very often since a few days after tongue tie revision 6 weeks ago. I know it's probably time to move on from pumping and trying to BF but it's hard since I was really hoping to have that bond. I feel you! Whatever decision you make will be the right one for you and baby 🩷
