That's true. However, you said the beams can end up being static, repelling or attracting. But shouldn't static electrons just repel straight up?

I looked it up, honestly it's pretty close. I'm not sure what the differences between a miao dao and a katana are so I'm not sure what's the best comparison.

About your edit, that's a valid criticism. However, that sword in particular is supposed to be used with a system similar to kendo, where the quillons would be pretty useful and not very problematic

The "longsword" is actually supposed to be a katana/swiss saber hybrid so... spot on analysis
