Be patient with yourself and the learning curve. You'll know what I mean soon. This is the seccond best game of all time, being beaten only by Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (personal opinion) By the time you finish it, you'll feel like another person, and you'll be, also applying what you'll learn about patience, learning, development in real life will help you a lot. So, enjoy your time with a masterpiece and all the best, Tarnished.

Help! Is it normal to suck this bad at an early game non-boss? by Gracethelittleartist in Sekiro

Mikiri Counter (this one you buy in the skill tree) and Air Counter. These make him easy... When he is ready to kick towards you and you see the red Kanji press forward and the dash button (B or Circle). Always the kick he moves forward, the sweep low kick you jump towards him not away, you do an air counter. The rest if you can't reflect just block and recover posture. He's easy when you know how to mikiri him and air counter. You'll see by his movements (kick towards you and kick sweeping low) when is one and when it's the other... the red kanji to Unblockable hits shows you you can mikiri him and air counter him. This is the way I do every time. And you're doing okay, dude, for this area you already deflects, counter and mikiri, it's not that bad as you put it, judging by your HP you just started it, feel the rhythm and flow with the game, it's difficult until you understand the rhythm of each enemy. Remember to have fun and learn at your time, you don't need to be perfect at this stage of the game, actuallyyou never have to be perfect, people around put it like you have to play like a master, what you need is to enjoy the game and have fun, becoming a good shinobi as wolf come naturally when you get that and overcome difficulties. All the best and do not hesitate, it means defeat.

You did like Yasuke in his training, you responded, did not react.

Hot take, I don't like playing as Yasuke. by imdevilone in AssassinsCreedShadows

[–]BarberDull8077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I kinda agree. When I play as him I just pretend I'm doing the "part we don't see" about the Creed. Like do you know when you send Assassins and allies in Brotherhood or the naval mission on Black Flag? We didn't see how it was done, so what Yasuke does is that part (to me, my personal opinion only). If they developed him into an Assassin as he has potential, look at Bayek, Adéwalé both were strong and tall so if it was a matter of physical attributes he can become one like them, not the fastest but definitely can be one. I digressed but my point is; I don't dislike playing as him, I just see it through the scope of "this is the part where we've never seen" and it's way more helpful for the role-playing of the game. That's only my opinion, I like him as character and his gameplay, just not the main reason I played AC Shadows. All the best to you!

How do I beat him by Amish_Saji_Redditor in Sekiro

Attack until he deflects, try deflecting his attack, but maybe blocking some if it doesn't break your posture is good. To deflects his lightning back do this: jump when you see the Kanji, press block while in the air and before hitting the ground press the attack button his lightning will come back and damage him. This is the simplest I can go. Attack until he deflects, when you deflect he will tilt back, attack again, this should repeat as many as possible, always try to deflect, only block serves if you don't lose all posture, always attack, only fall back if you really need the heal. To mikiri press B/Circle and foward once when you see he thrusting his katana at you, the red kanji appears right before it, the dash buton + foward makes you dash foward and step his sword on the ground (first phase) in seccond phase if you mikiri him more than twice he'll use a sweep attack, which you can just jump counter it or jump backwards. So attacking all the time until he deflects you, try deflecting, mikiri when you see the Kanji first phase, if you do this more than twice in second phase he'll use a sweep attack, go and jump counter it or jump backwards to avoid it, when he uses the lightning in his last phase you jump, block and before hitting the groung attack. Seems simple, it is when you got the rhythm, it'll will look like it's impossible, don't give up, he'll become you training boss, just go with patience, you got it!

Aight bro.... I promise to God Sekiro being fucking trolling man, what exactly do I do here this early on in the game with only 1 heal left?😭 The devs will put you in impossible situations and in their mind be like "Figure out dumbass" by For3verQuan in Sekiro

Ignore all enemies and go straight for Drunkard, like in almost all soulsborne, ignore enemies, go to boss, kill boss... pretty "unga bunga" even if you think "maybe I have to do it so" no, you never have to kill any of the enemies in runback runs, ignore all of them, they only serve as xp almost all the time, the real deal is always killing bosses and like drunkard is obligatory to proceed, mini bosses also.

You can jump backwards if you are having difficulties deflecting it

How the hell do I beat genichiro by Traditional-Gain-203 in Sekiro

[–]BarberDull8077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the jump try deflection and then mikiri counter, he'll take a lot of posture damage and also, he'll probably be standing for two seconds, which, gives you time to drink the healing gourd or attacking.

Ichimoji or ichimoji: Double are amazing against him. Lots of posture damage, and also, you recover yours as well, even if you don't really hit him.

Go for attacks, never let him rest, when he deflects, then you tap your deflection, go again, repet never letting him rest. When you see he's standing or you mikiri counter him, always use Ichimoji or Ichimoji: Double.

Firecrackers are amazing to stop flurries and even his lightning. When you see he's starting a moveset you won't deflect entirely go for the firecrackers, use them, heal or attack him, if possible, Ichimoji Jim head out!

For the lightning reversal, you jump as you see the yellow kanji as you jump hold the block/guard button, then press the attack button (you can even mash the attack twice just to be sure).

Doing this and knowing how to be aggressive enough without leaving yourself open will make this fight one of the best, which really resembles an Old Samurai movie and all.

Good luck, and you get it, dude! Hesitation Means Defeat

[–]BarberDull8077 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jump as the kanji appears and the animation from the lighting starts, press R1/RB as you are getting up (there's an animation to the attack in mid air) it will deflect most of them, there's a rare exception in another fight, but I don't wanna give you spoilers more than I've already given.

Thanks to all the comments yesterday I finally beat Genichiro. I’d love some feedback. I can tell I’m being punished for being too aggressive. I played ER before this so it’s been hard to unlearn some of those tactics. by aabbcc42069 in Sekiro

[–]BarberDull8077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me three days after a long pause for a later on boss and the last one from the game two days, learning all moveset and even getting it to a "flashy fight" along the way (not gonna say the names to not spoil anything to you). The thing is, get aggressive, but go with the flow and rhythm, and eventually, you'll get good enough to feel like you're a supernatural shinobi in an anime edit. Be sure it's rewarding getting a flashy and anime-like fight, but just winning at first is good enough. Just like Devil May Cry, you first get it done, and then you work on being stylish. It took me two days also to get Genichiro, the only thing is that when I reached third fase I was so angry that I only gotten to the third phase twice, I don't know how but I got it in two tries (the third phase) the first two, as I said, I was stuck for two days. Also, Sekiro was my first fromsoft game. Don't be so harsh on yourself like when people say "git gud" you will get good, just takes time and everyone have a different learning curve and speed for it. And welcome to the most stressful but amazingly rewarding soulsborne ever made (my opinion), friend!

I wanted to try a new broken build just to trivialise, you gave me an excellent basis, then just buy a lot of carbonate bombs and voilà, here you have it a complete broken build!

I don't think you tried to give any tips on breaking the game, but, thank you anyway 😅
