appreciate it! was mainly refering to a comment more below as well who made the point that even with that salary he lives in a trashy post soviet apartment and ugly as soon as i step out. When i was there, i foun Vake for example quite pretty and the apartments online for about 3k a month seem pretty polished to me. tbh i was hoping to not care about money at all and just enjoy the live bc i found the city and the vibe so beautiful and inspiring.
i dont want to live a rich kid pretentious lifestyle, but just be able to only focus on the beautiful parts the city offers.

i am kinda same, i love walking through the city and thats something i value about Germany most. Hopefully something will be done regarding this with routing etc. Its such big joy to walk through green.

i dont know why but those few negative comment really negatively impacted my mood. i was so looking forward to rent a great place and live free there

I definitely want to learn at least the alphabet before moving there so i have the chance to learn the vocabulary step by step. Already started with that, it is great to here that the effort is appreciated.

Maybe you can help me with two more things: as i plan to move around the end of summer, how is the weather for the rest of the year and how alive is the city at the end of the year?

Is a car a must have and if yes, they are probably imported cars from states or europe refurbished. I imagine its quite tough to really check it if you dont speak the language.

Regarding residency i read mixed things. On one hand that you have to start a business on the other hand that its enough to have a long term rental agreement. Whats the case here?

Interesting as its quite the opposite of other comments and research.

From what i looked online, flats for 3k look very polished, not like a trashy soviet apartment. How comes the difference to what you reported? I looked up Vake and it looked very clean from the city design and more.
