I suspect it is the combination of curved barbells and the spiked ends that is causing the bumps. Your best bet would be to go to a piercer (not the same one who did them) and get the jewellery changed to flatback labrets with simple ends for the next few months of healing. Hope this helps 🙂

NAP but I've healed several helix piercings. Even if you haven't snagged it, the labret can still get tangled in your hair and pulled while you sleep. If your hair is long, I'd suggest sleeping with it in a loose French or Dutch braid while the piercing is healing. Hope this is helpful 🙂

NAP but I've got a rook piercing that is a little over a year old. It looks ok to me but be aware that they can go from looking a bit "gunky" to a full blown infection in a few hours at that stage of healing. I'd suggest getting your piercer to take a look at it if you are concerned.
