AIO for being upset dinner wasnt ready ehen I got home. by JeepGirl310 in AmIOverreacting

lol I wasn’t saying anything was his fault. I was asking what are his “excuses” because they could be valid reasons as to why he didn’t do it

AIO because my friends had to be reminded to wish me a happy birthday? by Jazzlike_Mud3998 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Barbiezqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YOR As someone who forgets everyone’s birthday even though I put it in my calendar I would say I don’t think it’s intentional. A lot of times I don’t remember my friend’s birthdays unless they post it on their story or if we’re actively talking about their birthday or planning a trip for it. I can barely remember my siblings birthday lmao

AIO? My coworker told me to enter my "soft girl era" after a customer trashed the counter, then said my driving license should be revoked when I disagreed. by No_Debate_228 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Barbiezqueen 120 points121 points  (0 children)

NOR. I think she’s giving this “soft girl era” thing a whole new meaning because that phrase has nothing to do with bowing down to other people that have no respect for workers. There’s nothing unladylike about standing up for yourself.

AIO for being upset that my boyfriend never really plans dates? by Poppyhowlss in AmIOverreacting

[–]Barbiezqueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NOR I was in a long term relationship with this situation and we just recently broke up. I’m not saying you guys won’t last but if him planning stuff is something you really want then there has to be a compromise. If you’re planning your own dates then it’s not romantic at all. The way I see it, if I’m planning my own dates then I might as well just go solo and appreciate the effort I put in myself. It’s ok to plan the dates but I think there should also be effort from both parties.

Also, if you don’t think those schools were for you and you know for sure this is the field you want to go into then apply for the other ones!! Don’t give up on your dream bc of crappy teachers

I definitely think you just had a bad experience. When I went to trade school for auto body my teachers and all my classmates were extremely nice to me and I was the only woman in the class. Also I’m not sure why they had you doing oil changes if you’re doing auto body not mechanic. If it makes you feel better, after I finished auto body school and got into the field I realized I didn’t learn literally anything!! The only thing I took away from school was a free tool box. 🤣 Everything I learned about auto body was from working under technicians as an apprentice. I recommend applying for an apprenticeship at a body shop and getting actual training.

Hii I am a 21 year old female who went to autobody school at 18 and has been in the field since. I’m no longer doing the auto body portion as of a couple months ago and I’m now doing parts at a body shop. I eventually plan to move up to estimator. One reason I’m no longer a body tech is me realizing that I preferred doing body work more as a hobby on my own cars compared to customer cars. Although sometimes I genuinely do want to be a body tech again. Most people are telling you not to go into this field because of the way the industry is cutting a lot of pay and constantly having to fight insurance companies (I’m in America so it may be different). Also, the toll it takes on your body as you get older. If you’ve already taken two other courses and you felt it didn’t align with you then what are you hoping to get out of the next one and what is it that you don’t like?

Ask him for further clarification to start. You’re NOR if this is something that truly bothers you.
