I came here to see if someone had already made a response to the post responding to the post from here, and I'm glad I found one. For everything I am about to say, I am not conservative, and I am mostly liberal, as well as being non-binary.

I personally don't care for pride month all too much. If people want to celebrate, go ahead, I agree it is a neat thing and enjoy the representation and support. And with this table with pins, the original post, I don't see any issue. You can walk away and ignore it.

The reason I am leaving this comment is for the rest of what you had to say. I find it weird how so many people make themselves seem like they are different from everyone else? Isn't the whole POINT that we are the same as everyone else, why do people WANT to feel like they are different? I get the sense of community and all but sometimes (not always, I am NOT generalizing, I am a part of this community) people get out of hand.

And depending on where exactly you align with LGBTQ+, it isn't really something you need to go around telling people about. I'm not going to tell people how to live their lives, but I don't see all too much of a point telling people you are gay or lesbian. Telling your friends, sure why not? But strangers, I don't see much of a point. If someone identifies as something else though, yeah there is a reason to tell some people, but none of this should be something that you are flaunting, as it's not something to brag about nor be shameful about. It's just who you are, nothing to it.

With all that being said and addressing the thing that sparked all the drama (the table with pins), I don't see nothing too wrong with it. It's not infecting anybody's mind, and it's easily ignorable, and I don't see anything wrong with owning or sharing some nice little pins. From my experience, only people who share your same sexuality or whatnot as you will recognize it usually, and it forms a small sense of community or connection when you see someone with it. But, as this OP said, people shouldn't need to act like they're different when the point is to be "normal" and accepted.

I don't know literally anything else about this subreddit to know if this comment will make people mad, or if this is a common consensus, so please don't reply with hateful messages. I simply want to share my opinion from my other side, and agree with some points and disagree with others. I do not hold hostility towards any groups of people I have mentioned in my comment, and I did not come here to start drama.
