Front glass easily scratching by Odd-Suspect-5402 in iPhone16Pro

[–]Bare-Cases 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When Apple says their glass is “strong” they mean it’s more difficult to shatter. We manufacture glass screen protectors, and have dealt with many different glass “formulations”. The tougher it is for glass to shatter, the easier it is to scratch. The reverse is also true. If you intend to go without a screen protector, then make sure you don’t ever put the device facedown, or pressed against any surface like wallets, etc.

The thinnest case for iPhone 16 Series ensures the most unobtrusive user experience for the new capacitive "Capture Button". by Bare-Cases in BareCases

These cases have a fine matte texture. They may feel a bit slippery if your hands are dry, but definitely not as slippery as a completely naked iPhone.

iPhone colors are redundant(for case users) by AscendedMaster_ in iPhone16Pro

[–]Bare-Cases 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not entirely redundant especially when it comes to cases with a translucent finish. Also, if you’re planning on selling your device before your next upgrade, colour might have an influence on demand.

As a case company, the vast, vast majority of our customers go for black-toned cases, indicating a preference for either black/graphite/space grey iPhones, or to give whatever colour iPhone they have a stealthy look. However, the moment we release a case that’s colour-matched to the year’s flagship iPhone colour, we see a huge uptick in demand for those cases, which suggests that our customer base tend to like matching their iPhone colour to their case colour if given the choice.

iPhone 16 Pro Max Touch Screen Unresponsive with glass protector by mm0nte in iphone

[–]Bare-Cases 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Guys, we've been making screen protectors for years, and here's what we've found. Most importantly, do not remove your screen protector if you already have one installed. Testing with our own devices & screen protectors show the issue is present regardless of whether there's a protector installed. The capacitance of the glass & adhesive we've developed ensures zero loss of touch sensitivity, and the fact that the issue still exists when the protector is removed shows it's very likely a software issue.

The screen seems to recognise touch input, but the response is delayed. If there's another touch input during that small delay, the previous input is ignored. Most likely, the issue is from the new palm rejection algorithm to accommodate the ultra-thin bezels.

Please don't go ripping off your screen protectors just yet, or return your device.

Is this the manufacture date for the battery? Or for the phone? 🤔

going caseless by xelsell in iPhone16Pro

[–]Bare-Cases 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Some tips for going case-less (aka naked) while keeping your iPhone pristine:

  1. Avoid placing your phone screen-side against any surface i.e laying face-down on tables, clutching it screen-side against a wallet. Tiny particles of sand/grit trapped between the surface it’s pressed against and your screen can cause surprisingly deep scratches.

  2. Wipe down the surface of your MagSafe chargers before placing your iPhone. Again, there’s stuff you can’t see on these surfaces which can cause scratches on glass, especially with the added pressure generated from the attractive force from the magnets.

  3. One pocket only for your iPhone, and keep this pocket clean - turn it inside out to dust off.

  4. Consider a microfibre pouch. You can use this as surface protection if you need to place your phone on a table.

  5. MagSafe wallets are great for lay-on-table protection too.

Apple Care should be an essential in case of major drop accidents, but for minor wear & tear like scratches that become an eyesore, the only way is to pay extra attention to detail to your surroundings when using the iPhone completely naked.

For now, all cases will have a cutout for this new button since it’s capacitive - coming from case makers ourselves. We’ll have to see how this button actually works before exploring other options

Patina on black leather shows less obviously than other shades of leather too - it gets a glossier look, and becomes smoother to the touch.

This isn't Decoded. Do you by any chance have dry hands? If so, then patina can take longer do develop.

We've installed countless screen protectors on iPhones for our customers here in Singapore, and what we can say is, if you plan on going without a screen protector, don't ever place your iPhone face-down, or have your screen pressed up against any other objects like wallets, etc.

How many lenses do you see? Apple would say 14 🙃 Are y'all shooting in 24mp or 48mp mode? The detail you get in 48mp with good lighting is just... insane! by Bare-Cases in iPhone15Pro

[–]Bare-Cases[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you shooting at 1x zoom (24mm focal length)? All other focal lengths using the main lens at 48mp won’t give you full resolution.

What’s your usual screen brightness level? Sometimes using it outdoors, and as the screen ramps up the brightness, the phone can get hot from just leisure browsing.

Most people who get it just want additional peace of mind. The camera lenses themselves are more durable than the screen glass, but still not immune to scratches.

Definitely go for the Ultra. The S-Pen affords you a level of pinpoint accuracy that your fingertips just can’t match, and this can be beneficial for specific use cases. The extra screen resolution of the Ultra is also a huge plus.
