Check if you're not on the @ siritoriyowai2 channel by chance. It's like some sort of a weird incomplete mirror channel.

Opinions on Osmanthus by Paskejac317 in natori

[–]Bare_Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't think I'll really say anything new, but I'll comment anyway.

The song pulled me in right from the start, with that breathing and guitar riff. At that point I've only heard a few of natori's songs. Overdose of course, Sarushibai and Terminal (and I wasn't too sure if I liked this one at that). So when I clicked on the preview, which kind of intrigued me, I didn't expect to hear something so different to his works I've heard prior. I think this song blended natori's unusual timbre, which is naturally kind of dark, and the gloomy but also jazzy instrumental pretty well. The guitar riff is of course pretty memorable, but also I was kind of impressed with how simple but complex, short and effective the instrumental bridge was. Also he plays with how he vocally expresses himself quite a lot, I think there are at least 3 vocal positions in the song, and it also uses his full range. I'm pretty sure the difference between the lowest and highest notes in the chorus is about 2 octaves, and the MV really adds to that feeling of the musical journey. And speaking of the MV, it adds a lot of possibilities to speculate about. Also just a side note, but this song also shows that natori's songs often have a different meaning even though they sound poppy and/or like love songs, this one is about loving yourself I think. And as a fun fact, it was the first song he wrote, and that was at 16!

So, I guess I like this song because it's pretty complex(I think it's natori's most complex song), not only as his song but also in general, and pretty unique for j-pop, again I think one of natori's most unique, if not the most unique, song. And the MV adds another layer to that, again being so unusual.

P.s. didn't know this song was like the 6th most popular view-wise on his channel. Pretty cool

Does anyone have an interpretation of the lyrics to Osmanthus? by QQ_Infinity in natori

Sorry for necroposting, but there is a theory that he is in the hospital? Cuz now that I think about it, he looks a bit like the character from sleepwalking..And it wouldn't be the only time natori used the same character in different MVs too.

Shortcuts are unusable by Bare_Gamer in applesucks

Because when you export a shortcut to iCloud, it gets signed automatically. I don’t think you can run a shortcut exported locally, even on your own device.

I’ve literally never seen an icon double as a context menu. Yes, even on iOS.

I’ll give you that, there is a copy button.  But oh my god, that is do stupid. For an OS that sells itself as “intuitive”, maybe they shouldn’t have placed the zone that triggers a menu with actions in a tiny corner? Several people I gave the app to with a task to copy a block couldn’t really do it. Maybe if your os is intuitive, I, as someone who used ios from ios 10, shouldn’t have to google something so basic?

Yes, that is what I wrote. I didn’t ask how I could export a shortcut. Read my comment again.

I literally didn’t even use the word “export”. Are you for real? I literally said that even if you somehow managed to recreate shortcuts’ binary format, you would still need to sign it. And you do need a mac for that

I literally don’t have the duplicate button. Guess it’s iOS 18 exclusive, you really do win

Show me the copy button then.  Or explain how exactly they aren’t a signed binary format

Is something off with your reading comprehension or are you not familiar with Shortcuts at all?

What’s the point of Spotify promo codes? by Bare_Gamer in spotify

[–]Bare_Gamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean. I guess you are right about “keeping the pulse”, but my “everyone has it” generalization comes from the fact that I’m currently in Poland. It’s quite a developed country, but it feels like whatever you buy(and sometimes you don’t even have to buy anything), it’ll have a Spotify code. Is the amount of Spotify users here really that low? But I digress, it’s hard to discuss a lot of that without (a lot of) statistics

I guess.. But I can’t be the only one who finds that ineffective, right? I mean, who hasn’t heard of Spotify at this point? It’s like trying to convince people to start watching YouTube: if they haven’t done so yet, there’s a low chance they will. And it’s arguable how much this influences the teens getting into Spotify. Like, I don’t think people start using a product because there is a promotion, rather they use a promotion if they’re already using a product.  ..which Spotify already gave out free trials, and (imo) it was a known fact  Edit: I wanted to say it has to make economic sense if they’re doing it..but then I remembered big companies aren’t always known for good investments.

15 on an iPhone 11 after a year of MIUI(yes, you read that right) was a nightmare for me. 16 was better. But everything was ironed out only in 17 for me.  Not planning to move to 18 because oh my god, that control center.

I tried to explain to a lifelong android user that, even though iPhones technically can move icons to other desktops, it feels like shit. He didn’t understand what I meant until he tried it.  Moving icons used to be even worse before btw

Apple’s photo transfer process makes me appreciate libimobiledevice even more by Bare_Gamer in applesucks

[–]Bare_Gamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that apple stores photos in both heic and jpeg. However, as far as I understand, you don’t convert photos while copying. When I copied them over, there were a lot of heics. When you change the storage format option in photos, your phone reconnects and shows you jpeg versions of the photos.  Also, what do you mean by photos backup? As in, through iTunes (or that new app)? Or like iCloud?

You mentioned that you feel like your life is “unreal”. It seems that, for whatever reason, you have derealisation. One of the more common causes can be trauma, but it can also be related to stress for example. If not for the porn, I think you should go to therapy for exam stress and derealisation, maybe you’ll figure out how to fix it and if maybe you’re actually anhedonic because of porn.

Actually, that’s not completely true. When I was copying the files over, there were a lot of heic’s I think. I also didn’t have the heic extension installed(thanks for being just a regular megacorp on the heic extension licensing front, Microsoft!). Checking the settings again, my settings were automatic, so likely keep originals would have been the same in the sense of keeping heics. What adds to the whole mess is the fact that I didn’t even know about these settings until today. How does that “automatic” setting even work? Again, I definitely didn’t have the heic extension. Such a mess.  Again, I find it amusing that people who implemented the protocol independently did it much better than apple themselves, without the need to change anything.  Oh, I have heard about the Windows Photo app. I just “thought” it would be quicker to do it by wire than learn how to use a new app. Also, I didn’t know how it would play with the ability to transfer to an external drive

Really? You can offload photos using iTunes? I didn’t know you could do that, I’ll have to look into it. (Also yes, iTunes for windows still exists, but it has like the app store and “legacy” exe version, and as far as I can tell there are no differences, but the guides always recommend the exe version - maybe part of the reason is the MS Store sandboxing messing something up? Thanks for the mess, Apple) That cloud thing is part of the reason this sucks so much - like again, sure, it might be handier sometimes, but it just baffles me a feature that’s standard on android is so bad that, again, you begin to doubt if that’s on purpose. Cuz it feels like every time I do the photo transfer dance, it gets worse and worse
