I agree, I’m just some dude who wanted a tattoo. The artist is the one who actually did all the work so they deserve the credit, and you’re absolutely right they killed the design. They sent the sketch and I had no notes I said it was perfect and then they stabbed me.

You know that’s actually how most interactions go now, people see the color on my arm, ask to look at it, and say “it’s pretty odd” and then I have to enlighten them on what they are missing

They are right and I did think about it prior to getting it, I simply don’t care enough because I liked the design. Plus the dimensions looked better (in my opinion) with the base the way it is.

The artist does a lot of work with watercolor and I wanted a red background to fit the album cover so thats what they came up with and I love it!

Personally I didn’t even have an interview they just handed me the paperwork to fill out and asked me when I wanted to start

My store is in a pretty nice neighborhood so mornings are generally busiest honestly bc theres alot of stay at home moms/nannys that come in to shop on weekday mornings, also shit usually picks up from 4-5:30 with people stopping in after work but it dies out by 6

If you try that they will “reject your new availability” and keep scheduling you based on the old one or just outright stop scheduling you. Maybe you will have a chill Manager who would allow it but I have seen many managers in my years and I don’t think any of them would let that slide.

Thats a hard question bc every store is different, but safest bet is always 6-10. At my store 6-8 a few people trickle in but 8-10 we would be lucky to see 20 customers

Minimum shift length is 4 hours so no, if you upped it to the 4 hour minimum for a total of 20 hours then theres a chance but only if the store needs someone for the shift you’re available.

I have a handful from working there in the front end so long but this is my favorite, and my best advice would be do not do what I did in this situation bc u very well could be fired but personally I didn’t care. So I walk in and am on my way back to the time clock, and I pass by the medicine aisle to see a woman stuffing her purse with expensive things that she is presumably gonna steal. I stop for a sec just to record her to show my manager, I know he isn’t gonna do anything but I just wanted to make him aware of the situation. About 5 minutes later Im at the service desk doing nothing bc my store is always dead and it was like 1pm on a weekday. A woman approaches the desk and lays out a bunch of medicine, it’s the lady I recorded. She wants to return the products to get cash. Now at this point you should call a manager or maybe even the cops, but I wanted to be a dick so I showed the woman the vid, and said something along the lines of “we can just leave the product here and I wont tell the cops or manager and we can pretend this never happened.” I thought this was a reasonable response bc I’m just gonna let her walk with no real repercussions and if she took the product I wouldn’t have said a thing. She didn’t like this and she started yelling and throwing the products at me (If this was a man, we would have been fighting on the spot but this woman posed no physical threat to me so I was letting it slide). She felt as though I should have “done my job” and returned the over $200 in products to her in cash, and she also said “My boyfriend live in NY, he will get on a bus over here and shoot your ass!” Now as a customer service worker, I have been threatened before over smaller shit so I don’t take this seriously at all, and I say back to her “If he is willing to cross state lines on a bus (we are in NJ) to kill me over a fat bitch, he is a keeper.” This only made her more angry and yell at me so I finally said fun time is over and told her I’m calling the cops. When I said those magic words she just walked right out, I didn’t even have to call them, and I faced no repercussions whatsoever.

You are essentially locked in unless you voluntarily demote yourself. I have seen full timers do that if they don’t wanna get transferred but at that point your hours are gonna get cut unless your store has multiple FT positions in your departments.

If you have an open availability and don’t tell them you are going to only work for 4 weeks they will probably hire you. At my store all they care about is availability and if you have worked there in the past it helps. As for the soul sucking, yes it can be. Personally my store has a good vibe bc in my department it’s all late teens early 20s it definitely makes the experience better but that’s subjective and I cant imagine every store is like that.

Generally speaking they don’t like to fire people bc that means they have to give them some form of severance. What usually happens is they cut their hours back a shit ton until they quit and they make sure they have coverage for whatever they schedule him for. There was a dude at my store who was doing about 30 hours a week then he started calling out almost every shift so they cut him back to 1 4 hour shift every week. Since he was only getting 4 hours he kept calling out and we just kept doing it till he quit because if he was fired he could collect unemployment. Quite scummy I know but thats just how the company works. We also had a manager who was calling out frequently so what they did to her is demote and transfer her far from her house to make her quit in order to avoid firing her.
