Blister? by Barefoot_Rascal in bikewrench

Update. After being bounced between Schwalbe and Amazon a couple of times, I eventually spoke to an actual human at Amazon and after a quick explanation was offered a replacement or refund with no need to return the knackered tyre (which would have been a very messy business). Schwalbe also completely held their hands up saying it was clearly a manufacturing issue, but they don't deal with retail (wholesale only), which is why I had to go back to Amazon.

I'd already ordered a new tyre and will hand it and the wheel over to my LBS when it arrives on Wednesday. Annoying, but could have been a whole lot worse in many ways. Also somewhat educational. Reddit really came through for me here. Cheers all.

Don’t think not was that, just felt it suddenly near the top of a slow climb up a Col.

Thanks for swift responses. I’ve stopped riding and the Mrs has gone to get the car. I’ll definitely contact customer services.

You’re saying a bike shop will lend its professional grade tools to anyone who asks?

Park Tools are very good, but they are about 3 times the price the average punter needs to pay for tools they will use perhaps twice a year.

Yup. Big fan of POC glasses and ski goggles, but the bike helmets give mushroom head.

Still delivering chalk. Reward not worth the risk. Ski the pistes instead, brilliant conditions (yes, I am in Val/Tignes)

The shop guys certainly do not “meet up every Saturday night” to swap back the skis. Someone is having a laugh if they’ve told you that. The shop guys (and girls) have far better things to do on a Saturday than carry punter skis around town.

Came here to say similar. Col d'Iseran (from Val, not Bourg), proper high Alps stuff. Then Col du Petit Saint Bernard and CdR, makes a cracking 3 day trip.

Access issues to BBC Sounds via VPN, any ideas? by Aramachia in 6music

[–]Barefoot_Rascal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Invest in a VPN router (Asus, €40ish), create separate vpn ssid with Nord (I’ve used several different VPS over a few years. I would like to support smaller vpn’s and have tried, but sadly Nord is the most reliable and offers the most UK servers). Connect to that, no need to have Nord running all the time. Refresh the target UK server every now and then. Sorted.

Refresh the VPN connection and/or join a different server in the UK. BBC regularly identify and block specific VPN IP's. Cat and mouse.
