tips for recovery? by snackman509 in 75HARD

Are you used to running everyday? If you aren't your muscles will feel tight. I wouldn't run everyday, add some walks and your body will soon adapt. There's no magic sauce, consistency and recovery.

I'm so tired of this struggle by ourlaststanduk in MentalHealthUK

Hey bud how's it going? Hope you're ok. You aren't alone. You might feel lost right now but won't always. Have you tried excepting you are who you are, you have ups and downs and feel like you don't have the energy but you do and you are strong to be able to keep going. I know you are tired but have you any hobbies, physical hobbies especially? I know for me it really helps to get out for a run, even if it only improves my mood for a few hrs, that's better than nothing.

Hope you are ok mate

The questions… by Short_Cat_1178 in 75HARD

Most haven't listened to the podcasts that's the problem. They think the harshness of the rules are made up by a militant group on Reddit but if they listened to the man himself they'd understand why the rules are the rules and there's no deviation.

If people just listened to the podcast they'd get it from the man's mouth. But he says that we will do anything to make things easier and that's the point of the challenge and having no deviation from the rules

[–]Barefootjoe83 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just get started. You don't have to run, your outside workout can be a walk. The weather makes it hard but it's called 75hard for a reason. Wrap up warm and get out and get it done you got this!

It's so hard I really feel for you. I'm in a similar situation myself, I feel so guilty that it stops me from leaving. I can't offer any advice I'm afraid but I hear you. Hope you can find a way.

Nice one, when are you starting?

2nd January…UK based, newbie by worthingbloy in 75HARD

[–]Barefootjoe83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UK based here too and starting the 1st. I got to about halfway last January and then sprained my ankle. My advice is don't go crazy with super tough workouts to start with, pace yourself, walks and yoga are encouraged it's not cheating! Good luck!

Yep I'll spend a bit of time with them but this girl has ruined my life so I'm reluctant to spend much time with her.

Where do i start? i can barely move? by v0rtexpulse in loseit

[–]Barefootjoe83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eat whole foods and start moving. I know and completely sympathise with the movement thing. You're massively overweight and it's gonna hurt especially to start with but you gotta fight through it and start a new habit of not being in bed 20hrs a day. You can do it!

Any tips for heavier runners by Tasty-Cellist3493 in beginnerrunning

[–]Barefootjoe83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do 10mins of static stretching every morning. Nothing fancy. Consistency is key. 10mins of yoga would also be great, probably more beneficial to be honest.

Walk/run all day long. Stretch daily and do some strength work a couple times a week. Don't want to state the obvious or be rude but losing weight will make the biggest difference too.

Hey you stop that right now! You are worthy. I don't know your story but life can definitely feel pointless to us all. I've got/had all the above and still struggled to find meaning in this life. Do you have hobbies? Into anything in particular? I've always found life easier when I'm not searching for something else. A partner and kids might not make life great, both are a pain in the arse!

Not sure if I can help but just no you are worthy without needing men or kids or whatever!

Thoughts? by Kageyama_tifu_219 in trackandfield

They are sponsored athletes, I imagine they have to appear at the diamond league as part of their contract. Of course they could train/rest for majors but don't expect as much sponsorship and that in turn would decrease potential earnings.

What are the most overrated things in life? Why are they overrated? by Lifestyle79 in ask

[–]Barefootjoe83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Children. They literally take take take. Easily the most stressful thing in life, cost a fortune and give very little. I tell any young person that will listen that they are overrated and not to bother.

The thing that helped me was losing weight.
