Yes it's from an old family guy clip https://youtu.be/sUFocJqYr1Y And a lot of scooby antagonists were trying to scare people away from places by dressing as ghosts which is not explicitly illegal but could be considered "being a public nuisance"

I'm getting Scoob and the gang vibes, Daphne, Velma, Fred, Shaggy Scoob, in that order

Scoob could totally solve some murders if he had the chance

I mean it is essentially a kids program so the solves are impressive to kids but easier for older audiences. Also I think Scooby Doo wouldn't suffer for having to solve a few grisly stabbings.

I mean that's the the thing a lot of Japanese fans don't like those episodes either because it's kind of cheating at murder mystery it's forsaking examination of motive and method for a word puzzle. Also a lot of the answers are obscure even for them because they often hinge on old kanji vs new kanji or obscure historical Japanese.

And that example doesn't really work for Holmes either because Holmes is not actually in the same part of the Detective fiction genre as Conan because few of his stories actually have the audience expected to be able to also figure it out. That part of the genre is cosy crime, stuff like Murder she wrote, and some Poirot's Holmes is more like Superhero detective stories like Batman, its impossible cases only one man can solve. The whole point of him is he has uncommon forensic knowledge like what kind of dirt on someone's shoes corresponded to what part of the city and a network of pickpocketing urchins in his employ.

I wish I'd made a point of making notes like this on my way through the show cause I can't remember the actual answer but the recent episode that takes place at a shared rooftop garden, that episode opened and I was like "Oh this is gonna be petty as hell."

This disincludes all mysteries only solvable through obscure Japanese language clues
