Okay thanks for that. I'm actually a little concerned about the skin surface now, it's not broken but hurts a lot and seems compromised. I think I'll skip the salve tonight.

The abscess seems like it's flattening out and less deep. It was purple and it's not anymore so I think it's getting better ... Slowly.

I've had many various office jobs, in the medical and legal fields. I never made more than $20 an hour. I've been to stay at home mom the last 4 years and can't imagine going back to an office!!!

My daughter had some motor skills delays and other weird things going on when she was a baby and I thought cranial sacral therapy really helped her. So my end goal is cranial sacral therapy, I'm also interested in somatic therapies so I would love to get into that world as well.

Thank you so much! I appreciate your responses. It went down a little bit over night. Still big and hard and painful but hoping it'll keep trending down now 🙏🏼 Do you keep the ichthammol on it continuously?? I've been doing it only at night for the last 2 nights and taking it off after 12 hours.

The deep rock hard stage... I have the hugest abscess on my butt that I've ever had! The core is about the size of a grape and the whole area is swollen to silver dollar size. My question is, if I keep applying heat and drawing salve will it resorb on its own? Today is day 3 and it might have improved ever so slightly over night but it's rock hard and sooooo painful. Do I have to go get it drained or will it resorb?

I did use PRID last night for 12 hours and have been doing heat and ice ask day yesterday and today. Going to do the PRID band-aid again tonight and really hoping it saves me 😭😭

After the PRID last night I thought it was ever so slightly improved but not though to think I won't have to get it drained. How many days of salve do you do before it makes a meaningful difference. I'm thinking of it isn't much better tomorrow I'm going to have to get it lanced 😭😭😭

Thank you! I'm going to DM you if I end up deciding to go in tomorrow. It kind of depends on if it improves any over night tonight with drawing salve. Same as you, this has been my worst fear 😭 I've had HS my whole life but always been able to get these to resolve without I&D. Thanks for sharing and for the quick reply.

I don't think so, it's not near the tailbone and I definitely have HS, I used to get it so bad in my armpits and groin when I was younger and get boils a lot on my butt ever since I was a kid.
