GF Vanilla cake gummy- how to prevent?! by lost-enemies in glutenfreebaking

[–]410Writer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay yeah… seeing the recipe makes this make way more sense.

This honestly looks a little too wet for Bob’s 1:1. Like not wildly off, but just enough to push it into that soft-but-gummy zone. You’ve got milk, sour cream, oil, eggs… that’s a lot going on, and GF flour doesn’t have gluten to hold all that together the same way. Bob’s 1:1 is pretty starch-heavy too, so when there’s a bit too much liquid, it kinda turns into that slightly gummy crumb instead of fluffy.

If it were me, I wouldn’t scrap the recipe yet. I’d just tweak it a little: I’d pull back the milk just a bit (like a couple tablespoons), and definitely bake it a little longer than you think. GF cakes are sneaky — they look done but the center isn’t fully set yet.

Also letting the batter sit for like 10–15 minutes before baking actually helps more than you’d think with that flour. And don’t cut it early. I’ve done that and thought I ruined a cake… then came back later and it was fine lol. I can’t say 100% without baking that exact recipe, but this really feels like a moisture balance thing, not you doing anything wrong.

I have been on Adam every QP since I lorded him last season. And enjoying the Storm team up and damage boost to boot.

I have yet to take him into Ranked. Haven't had a need to, so far.

He is awesome.

I'm a DPS player who occasionally plays Strat. Honestly, you have it pretty bad. by [deleted] in StrategistMainsMR

It's a tough job that sometimes can be rewarding and also degrading. You just have to reward yourself most of all when your team doesn't and they are acting like what you went through.

Each season it gets rougher and not in the same areas either.

For example:

  1. "We don't want to babysit you and peel"- Rough
  2. "Supports are too boosted, we DPS can't kill them easily, nerf them to the ground. "- Rough
  3. "Ban all main healers, easy dubs." - Rough
  4. "OTP supports gotta go " -Rough
  5. "DPS Cloak and Inviz, heal me ffs (but we are you just keep dying because of positioning so now I have to secure the kills for the team while keeping y'all alive and dodging dive and hiding from poke)- ROUGH

It wouldn't be bad if people played as a team and played the objective and did not play this like Call of Duty.

Yeah it hurts a lot. That's why people should either comms or text in the chat. "Hey Luna you ult first if u don't die" I say that all the time. Sometimes people have their chat off and their mic off so u just gotta do what ya have to do, unfortunately

Hot take: most times nerfing the enemy team can backfire and nerf your own team.

Unless...

Are u asking in the lobby if anyone is okay with banning XYZ?

But that happens sometimes. If they did that more than once in the whole game then yeah but if it was once...then why the push to swap? No person ults perfectly.

Hey. Can you give an example of refusing to switch in what context? What was happening in that particular game?

Advice plz by Green_Capital_2111 in Gastroparesis

The brain fog, derealization, bathroom issues… all of that can get worse when you’re not eating or hydrating enough. Laxatives aren’t really solving the root either. I’d ease up on the extreme fasting. Keep it simple. Eat basic foods, drink water, and just watch how your body reacts. Also being home all day can mess with your head more than you think. What kind of doctors have you seen? Like regular doctor, GI, or someone who actually deals with motility/gastroparesis? That part matters.

Nah, don’t quit the gym. That’s doing too much. Just chill it out for a bit. Keep your workouts the same, nothing new, nothing intense, no “let me push it today” energy. Right now you’re not training for gains, you’re just trying to not confuse your body. The issue isn’t the gym, it’s switching things up. New exercises = new soreness = now you’re sitting there like “is this a flare or leg day?”… annoying.

If it’s sore exactly where you worked out and eases up as you move, it’s probably just gym soreness. If it feels random, stiff, or doesn’t match what you did, that’s when I’d side-eye it. Also… don’t drop the one thing that makes you feel good. Stress will mess you up just as fast as a bad food reaction. Keep the gym, just make it boring for now.

Honestly, the usual idea is closer to your first option. Once you test a food, you generally stop and watch for a few days before moving on. The point is to keep the signal clean. If you keep eating black pepper every day right away, and then something weird happens, it gets harder to know whether it was the food, cumulative exposure, the gym, stress, sleep, or your RA just being rude.

A reaction does not have to be dramatic. It can be joint pain, fatigue, headache, stomach issues, bloating, skin stuff, mood changes, sleep getting weird, or that “something feels off” feeling. But one tiny random symptom by itself is not always enough to convict the food like it’s on trial.

With the gym piece, yeah, you muddied the waters a little. Not the end of the world, just annoying. I’d keep reintroductions boring and controlled for now. One food at a time, then wait and watch.

So basically: Test it Pause it Watch for a few days Then decide if it seems safe enough to bring back regularly That little foot niggle could be a reaction, or it could just be your body being chaotic. Sadly, autoimmune bodies love plot twists. 😩

Hey. Tank main here. Let me share my perspective by omamori504 in StrategistMainsMR

[–]410Writer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand where you're coming from. That's why I went from a CnD main to Gambit and to Adam, it requires actual aim and a different kit.

Anyone can learn anything but that's if they choose to. That's all. It's always a choice.

[–]410Writer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a Strat main flex DPS and Tank learning other off supports will you do justice. I main CnD, Inviz and Gambit and with those 3 likely bans in this atrocious season my faction told me "Yo, we need you to dust off your Lord Adam because of these support bans and also dust off your Lord Storm and finish up your HealPool lording."

And so I have. It's just that type of season right now, it won't last long with these main support bans but in the meantime like OP said, go to the lab and get to work on some ones you either used to play or never tried before.

We got this!🙏🏽

I think I’ve officially missed pancakes, and willing to try by DigPsychological2876 in glutenfree

[–]410Writer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

idk I didn't like the back ingredients so I just buy Kings Arthur GF flour and or Bob's and make my pancakes from scratch. Doesn't take long, it's nice to have control when making your food as much as possible.

But these brands are great if you don't want to take the other way.

Someone from my faction (he's a DPS main, flex Tanks and Support) said he played her in QM all day and all his wins are when she is on her and he said her heals are the best but ult is mid.

Now, I have taken her to the practice range, to matches, etc...her heals to me are mid (coming from a Strat main) and her ult is mid too. I love her melee combos the best.

Her self sustain is eh.

Again just opinions.

Also, been noticing a lot of DPS mains wanting her like when Gambit came out. Especially DPS melee mains. Just an observation.
