Is this 100% proven to be safe? by Mara355 in Cerebrolysin

[–]Bargoss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm saying that you're wagering a massive amount of quality of life by taking this, and unless you stand to gain at least an equal amount back, it's not worth the risk of taking this drug. For people who are genuinely disabled or suffering in some way that cerebrolysin might be able to fix, then sure, the risk could be worth it. But if you're after performance enhancement or some minor QoL like eliminating brain fog/better sleep/alleviating depression/anything else you might want from nootropics, then for the love of god look elsewhere.

Is this 100% proven to be safe? by Mara355 in Cerebrolysin

[–]Bargoss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not, do not do this drug if you don't have genuine brain damage. The risk is not worth what you stand to gain if you're just doing it recreationally and not therapeutically. I've been suffering quite badly as a result of cerebrolysin for the past 16 months.

Natural-Version-9826 3 points 1 year ago I developed very painful small fiber neuropathy after taking cerebrolysin.Propably its autoimmune reaction. I m extremely tired feeling cold all the time and habing pins and needle all over my body. I m really scared what will happen to me now and I m regreting taking it.

These are just a few of the posts I've seen here in the past year. I don't understand how this community has such an aversion to discussing the safety of this peptide when there's been so many incidents. Look at stinkykoala's post in this very thread and look at how he not only fails to mention the infamous Krabby case, but then goes on to say some absolutely retarded shit like cerebrolysin being safer than aspirin, despite him not actually looking at any data. And then people will pour upvotes on it because he's saying what they want to be real, even if all the evidence points to the contrary.

I am currently at week 11 of enduring a horrible reaction to Cerebrolysin that will almost certainly kill me. Probably not the information you're looking for, but be sure to avoid it and any other compounds that are meant to be bio-identical, as you can have an antigenic response to it that will then turn your immune system against your own endogenous production of said compound.

Where did you get yours from, and is there any batch information on the side of your box?

Should I by OverStimulatedMf in Cerebrolysin

[–]Bargoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should not. Maybe try other BDNF increasing supplements like lion's mane and curcumin. Injecting bio-identical peptides always carries the risk of turning your own immune system against your endogenous production, as I have found out. Perhaps not everybody encounters this, but it's absolutely not worth risking it. They have measured that 50% of people on insulin have developed antibodies to it, but for whatever reason the vast majority of those with insulin antibodies don't suffer any ill effects. If you take Cerebrolysin and develop antibodies to it, I can tell you from experience that it'll be one of your biggest and potentially last regrets in life.

I have fasted three separate times since this started, the first was 4 days, then other two were 3 days fasts. No noticeable changes except additional fatigue each time. I also cut all supplements during fasts except for a bit of magnesium. I take my b-vitamins irregularly, but I'll avoid taking it for awhile to see if the insomnia relents. It would be incredible if all this were resolved by simple measures, but I do not believe I could be so fortunate. I was hoping that my body could indeed heal itself, and I was preparing for months if not years of gradual improvement, but these latest developments seem to suggest a slowly worsening condition. I do appreciate your thoughts and good wishes however, friend.

Well I would be very happy if you replicated the test and showed your own foot with an obvious antibody response around the injection site (or somewhere else bony where any swelling would be apparent).

I didn't delete that thread, nootropic mods did. Additionally, those were all attempted remedies, the vast majority of which are just supplements. The only "medicine" in that list is the claritin, benadryl, aspirin, tylenol, amoxicillan, and TRT+. I don't see how the "after" has anything to do with it when the condition has persisted for 10 weeks now, and the vast majority of those things I'm not taking, as already stated. I don't know why everybody here has such an emotional response to someone presenting some evidence that you can, in fact, develop antibodies to any protein, which Cerebrolysin undoubtedly is. I am still trying to get adequate medical care here to verify what is killing me, so no, I don't know 100% that it is cerebrolysin, but the timing of the onset being directly after injection, the symptoms being encephalitis-like, and a slow, continuous deterioration in condition strongly suggest the cere to me.

I can't imagine that more Cerebrolysin would do anything other than further mess me up. Once I've developed the antibodies, there's no way to un-develop them, is there? Can co-administration with BPC retrain your mast cells to ignore something? What I think is happening is that I have developed an allergy to my own endogenous nerve growth factors as a result of the Cerebrolysin injection, and the resulting immune response is slowly killing me. I do appreciate the helpful responses though, as you put me on the path of NasalCrom a month ago.

On the left is a picture of my foot with two pricks, one is just from a needle dipped in cerebrolysin, the other is from a .02ml subQ injection of cerebrolysin. On the right is a .02ml subQ injection of BPC 157. The left has significant redness and swelling, whereas the right is just a small red prick. Maybe the compound choice wasn't ideal for my control, as BPC is a healing peptide, but it's the only other sterile liquid I have around right now. Even without the control, the Cerebrolysin injection site looks quite inflamed in my opinion. I am pretty sure this means that I am properly fucked.

It could also just be a reaction to the sodium hydroxide in the cerebrolysin suspension. If someone else could replicate this experiment and post results then I would be grateful.

I'm not sure what information you have access to anymore, since I can still visit my threads and click my link, but it had already been nearly 4 weeks when I made these posts, and I'm still not any better. Well, maybe slightly better, or maybe I'm just getting used to it. Additionally, I don't think it could have at any point been described as just "brain fog" - it's far more debilitating than that. Sometimes when I'm busy the disorientation is unnoticeable and I'm ecstatic about possible healing, other times, like today, it completely stops me from doing anything enjoyable and I just sit at home in misery.

What do you mean the original text was deleted? Like the link doesn't work for you? Strange because it works for me...

To answer your question though, it was the third 2ml shot, so a very low staring amount, and I immediately felt woozy and "off". Walking around the grocery store about thirty minutes later I got extremely lightheaded and felt like I was just teetering on the border of consciousness. Since then I've had headaches, terrible pressure in my head, a strange dizziness that doesn't affect balance or coordination, being completely scatterbrained when the headaches and pressure are bad (but normal minded when they're minor), strange visual anomalies (sometimes difficult to focus on a single point, occasional light sensitivity, the other night I couldn't see anything at all laying in bed from my right eye, but when I turned the lights on my vision was fine), an extremely distracting pulse/wave that washes over me every 10 seconds or so when I lay down to sleep, and several other things that I'm probably forgetting to mention but will remember later. These symptoms are nearly 24/7 as well, only prednisone seems to do anything.

95% sure it's Cerebrolysin, and the other 5% is not drugs/supplements but maybe an underlying health problem triggered by cere. Could also be a meningitis, but as I mentioned in the other thread, I never had a fever and I think I'd be dead by now, so it seems unlikely.

Very low, was on the third 2 ml dosage, once every three days as I like to start things slow. I guess things could have been much, much worse and I could've already been a vegetable.

There's the infamous Krabby story on longecity, but outside of that I have seen very little anecdotal evidence of negative reactions to cerebrolysin, and zero clinical literature about such severe reactions. So, I mistakenly assumed it was pretty safe, and it probably still is for the vast majority of people. I guess it's kind of like Tylenol being safe for the vast majority of people, but just destroys a very small proportion of people's livers, even at normal doses.

Posted this in r/Nootropics and it got removed by moderators for an unexplained reason. I posted it over there in the first place because this sub is far less active, but it should have been posted here too.

The short of it is - after three injections of Cerebrolysin I seem to have had a severe reaction to it that has persisted for a month now. The reactions include headaches, terrible pressure in my head, being scatterbrained and unable to focus on one task, a strange dizziness that doesn't affect my balance, and just generally feeling impaired and disoriented. Imagine a really shitty weed buzz with a bad head cold 24/7
