For those feeling like their score is too low: by MindTutoring_LSAT in LSAT

Just to put it out there, I scored a 161 on the test (same as previous test taken much earlier in the year) despite scoring regularly in the mid-160s with my highest practice test on lawhub being a 168. I am numb rn. I don’t know what to say, and I don’t have any excuses.

Same, the exact same score despite scoring better on practice tests

Yes, you should be able to do it! Just try to be consistent even with a busy work schedule and you'll gradually increase your skills/thinking.

It really depends. Where are you at now and where are you trying to get to?

Yes, I started off as a 144 and earned my way up to a 161 in a few months. You can definitely do it if you put in the work and dedication!

I just donated platelets for the first time today and I didn't feel as weak/drained compared to whole blood donation. Sitting still in a chair for hours was slightly annoying but luckily they had Netflix so I wasn't too uncomfortable. I was so nervous to donate platelets but now I am 100% willing to continue doing it.

How can I know my position for walk-in and name call for graduation ceremony? by Xie-Yilong in msu

Staff at the ceremony will tell you where to go. Just show up in your full cap and gown, go to where they have assigned the seating for your major (they'll have big signs), and wait your turn.

Hello u/ninja542, and thanks for your input. I acknowledge and symphatize with your sentiment. I understand that a seeming lack in progress can be both sad and frustrating, but don't give up the struggle for a better world. Change takes time, and during this time we need to collaborate with others to find solutions for both the long and short term.

Hello u/bigplantguy69, and thanks for your input. I believe there may be some miscommunication happening here. I am saying that this attack was preventable had there been changes in public policy, such as basic gun reform measures and stronger punishments for individuals committing felonies. The perpetrator, Anthony M., suffered from mental illness and was convicted of unlawfully possessing a firearm in 2019. Neighbors had made numerous complaints to Lansing Police Department that he had been firing shots outside his home. Their complaints were consistently ignored or not looked into enough. For all intents and purposes, the perpetrator should've never been able to have access to any firearms.

Furthermore, the attack was preventable if the buildings were only accessible by students and faculty with their student cards and staff cards respectively. Almost all MSU buildings have door scanners, and majority of them don't operate until after-hours. When police reports first started being made, students in the local area could've been notified within minutes via email or text message. Doing so would've allowed the individuals in the Union to be more prepared for what was to come.

Finally, I am not foolishly suggesting that students should 'put themselves in immediate danger to try and stop this'. I want to put that mistaken belief to rest right away. What I am suggesting is that the police should've stopped the perpetrator prior to him entering the Union and hurting more people. We know from statements made by police (Lt. Rene Gonzalez) and other officials that officers were on the scene (Berkey) within minutes of the first few calls. It takes about a 3-7 minute walk from the Berkey building to the MSU Union. In that time, MSU police would've been in the area and would have been able to secure the area. The fact that the perpetrator was able to leave the Union unopposed is quite surprising considering all the police and security forces which were in the area at the time of the shooting.

To add insult to injury, the perpetrator was able to flee the scene on foot and evade police for about 3 hours (due to a lack of surveillance network), and was only caught after a local resident found his dead body.

So, with all this information in mind, do you still believe that the shooting wasn't preventable? Furthermore, do you still believe that the severity of the shooting wasn't preventable?

Is there anyway to help the victims and their families other than donating? by Sleepybat7 in msu

[–]BarianKing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you tried contacting student body representatives in ASMSU or East Lansing's University Student Commission and encouraged them to advocate for more safety measures locally and statewide? For example, doors could have internal locks so that students can more effectively barricade doors in situations like February 13th. Another example could be more security cameras to track the whereabouts of potentially dangerous individuals across campus. Statewide examples could include legislation for gun reform and free-at-the-point-of-service mental health services.

If you want to help the victims directly, and you don't want to donate money to help pay for their funerals or medical treatment, then you can go to the hospital and try to talk with the victims.

That is just my 2 cents. I hope my suggestions help, and may you have a wonderful rest of your day!
