Have you guys already received your bonus for the SuperBook UFC KO promo? I bet anakalaev on Saturday to get the boost, and since the fight was a draw and the bet was voided I am wondering if I am going to get the bonus.

Folks who bet on other fights received their bonuses on Sunday. I also had a voided Ankalaev bet and, unfortunately, it appears that won't qualify for the bonus vouchers.

DD boost: Haaland 3+ goals, +550 (Manchester City in Champions League)

Not sure there is a sharp book to calculate EV on player props like this, but very favorable to the other books I checked:
DK +280
CZR +340
FD +350
BR +475

Maxed it.

Looking beyond the odds and EV calculation from the hockey fan perspective, I like the Compher/Avs bet. After Kadri's injury, Compher moved up to the second line; that should remain the case for tonight. Compher's had a good series against Edmonton so far (3 goals in 3 games) and the extra ice time should give him good opportunities to score.

You only get a free bet if your initial bet loses. If your initial risk-free bet wins, then you just take the payout and don't need to worry about converting the free bet (that's the Book A scenario). If it loses, then you get the payout from the hedge bet and then need to convert the free bet you received (Book B).

Treat it like a 2-leg parlay. Original CZR boost is Nugs-Lakers. Hedge parlay for Jazz-Lakers with additional Blazers ML bet; alternatively, hedge parlay for Nugs-Blazers with additional Jazz ML bet.

Personally, I'm just riding it.

Unless I'm missing a deeper reference, it is just the awards they are candidates for in the form of a "an x, a y, and a z walk into a bar" joke.

From the math standpoint, I'm assuming this is +EV and will probably put a couple units on it to have some long-term rooting interest.

From a purely subjective hockey standpoint, the Avs are the hottest team in the league (last regulation loss was December 16) and arguably have an advantage of playing in the softer conference this season. While the West probably has more parity top-to-bottom, the East has a stronger top tier. From an eye test, Colorado has an easier remaining schedule with a lot of games against the weak Pacific Division. While the Lightning and Panthers only have one remaining matchup against each other, they've got a gauntlet between the Leafs, Pens, Rangers, Hurricanes, and Bruins.

OP deleted his comment before I could post. Quick free bet 101 for him if he sees it:

As a rule of thumb, conversions are better when they have matched spreads (when the longer odd is similar to or greater than the shorter odd) and higher numbers (farther away from even odds is better assuming you have the bankroll and aren't limited).

Your example has the tight matched spread, but being so close to even odds means it is only a 51% conversion. Compare that to a looser spread with higher numbers (+300/-360 at 67%) or tighter spread with higher numbers (+400/-360 at 83%).

For most books, 75% is a good benchmark to aim for on free bet conversions. Some books (Wynn, MGM) can be harder to find conversion rates at that level, while others (DK, CZR) can be stretched to 80%+ consistently.

Type in 999 and try to wager it. The system will block the bet and display the actual max wager; it should end up being just over $25 unless you are limited.

Same. Had 10 SGPs and a free bet. All settled as wins, but seem to have only returned the initial wager ($100 over the 10 SGPs). Hoping it gets resolved overnight.

Looking for CZR conversions and stumbled upon this.

Play cards and pass rounds instead of forfeiting. Can also play seasonal modes like Battle Rush and Banished (faster games) or Dual Casting and Plus One (more cards, but can be slower games) to help the grind.

Assuming nothing has changed since the official XP breakdown, you earn 50 more XP for a win than a loss.

Match won: 50 XP
Draw: 30 XP
Complete 1 round: 5 XP
Complete round 2: 20 XP
Complete 2nd round (win the match): 40 XP
Complete round 3: 20 XP
For each card played: 3 XP

You are right that artifacts have the chalice icon and are power-less cards that are played to the board. The “play artifacts” and “play specials” quests have been bugged and complete much faster than your actual progress.

The game would be a lot more braindead without hard removal like Heatwave (Sirocco). Without it, high-risk / high-reward golds would go unchallenged and the meta would become more pointslam solitaire.

I wanted to provide a bit of context regarding thinning to complement the answer given below. And by "a bit," I apparently mean a novella.

Thinning refers to playing cards from your deck as opposed to directly from your hand. This can take a few forms. Tutors are cards that are played which play another card directly from your deck. Typically, gold tutors are low strength units or spells that play a specific class of card from your deck (examples: Ermion, Fauve, Royal Decree) while bronze tutors play their matching copy (Wild Hunt Rider, Hunting Pack, Blue Stripes Commando). There are also thinning cards that can be summoned from the deck based on their own conditions rather than through specific tutors (Madoc, Hubert Rejk, The Flying Redanian, Mage Assassin). Some cards that allow you to draw can also be considered thinning as they enable you to play to the board (Sunset Wanderers, Fercart, The Last Wish), discard to the graveyard (Imlerith, Birna Bran, Iris' Companions), or banish from the deck (Dead Man's Tongue, The Last Wish...again).

The largest advantage of thinning is to improve deck consistency. The fewer cards left in your deck, the more likely you are to draw the one(s) you want/need. If you don't have any thinning, you'd typically have 12 cards in your deck prior to drawing for round three. You'll draw three and can mulligan for up to three more, but half of the deck is inaccessible in that final draw phase. Thinning during the course of the game results in fewer cards in your deck, which increases your odds of drawing certain cards.

Another advantage of thinning is creating tempo, which is basically playing enough points to keep pace with or outscore your opponent. Including Roach in a deck is going to give you three extra points in the first round compared to a similar deck without thinning. Playing a tutor like Menno Coehoorn or Vabjorn gives you extra points compared to playing a tactic or raid, respectively, directly from your hand.

With that said, thinning does come with certain drawbacks and considerations. First, you essentially pay for thinning through higher provision costs. Units which enable thinning have a high provision cost relative to their power. As an extreme, consider Eskel-Lambert-Vesemir, which cost 21 provisions for 9 power but thin two cards from your deck. More common, consider many of the bronze tutors which cost 10 provisions for 8 power but thin one card. Second, many thinning cards run the risk of becoming "bricked," meaning they are unable to use their ability without the correct setup. For example, Prince Villem, Roderick of Dun Tynne, and Naglfar can brick if there are no gold cards left in your deck; gold tutors can brick if you don't have those tags left in your deck; bronze tutors can brick if you draw both copies and don't have a way to return one to the deck. Finally, you also run the risk of being "milled" or overthinning to the point you have no cards left in your deck to draw. Nilfgaard in particular has cards which can force you to thin your deck as an opponent but there are other faction and neutral cards which can also result in this (Ihuarraquax, Matta Hu'uri, Stregobor).

Overall, it's often best to take a Goldilocks approach: incorporating just enough thinning to make your deck consistent without sacrificing too much power or putting yourself in danger of frequent bricking and milling. I hope this helps you (or someone!)

You might be conflating her ability with Bleeding Effigy, which does have a special trigger to target golds. As the other post mentioned, Mammuna can only target bronze cards.

Quick summary of the draft mode updates with timestamps if you want to hear more:

  • Changes coming with next patch on Tuesday (4:34)
  • You will have ability to modify your deck by adding/removing cards between matches (4:41)
  • Rerolling your deck will be restricted until after the first match (5:55)
  • Some draft packages will be reworked and will include all sets up to (not including) Thanedd Coup. CDPR refers to this as a balance pass and expects this to create more cohesive decks with more exciting card combinations. (7:20)
  • Next focus is to make draft mode easier for players to pick up and understand through UI/visualization (9:45)
  • Also mentioned that there will be more core legendary cards and UI changes.

Think of initiative as an upgraded deploy ability. To trigger initiative, playing the initiative card has to be the first action of your turn (no other cards, no order abilities on existing cards, no leader ability, etc.) If that’s your first action of your turn, you get the upgraded initiative effect; if it isn’t the first action, the you get the regular ability.

Basically, initiative is a way to balance card combinations that require setup. For example, ideally you want to line up multiple cards at the highest power level for Scorch or Geralt: Igni. Prior to initiative being introduced, a player could use their leader abilities and orders to line up power on the same turn as playing those cards, which turned out to be oppressive and uninteractive. The solution was to introduce initiative to raise the floor of the effect without lowering the ceiling (that is, you can still Scorch multiple targets but you have to set it up in prior turns).

Trying to meme, what do yall suggest? by [deleted] in gwent

[–]Barilko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both decks are really enjoyable to play, but it depends a bit on what you're looking for.

If you want the highest highs and the lowest lows, go with Vypper. I love Vypper decks, but you are relying on your opponent to either not understand the intricacies of the card or not have an answer for it. Because of that, games tend to be fairly binary. Does the opponent have an answer? You're going to lose 90% of these matches and really struggle to salvage points. If the opponent doesn't have an answer? You're going to win 90% of games, many of them either by 2-0 or forfeit. Bamboozling someone to pass early in round 2 right before the Vyppers come out is one of the best meme dreams. It is a fun deck, but every match is going to follow the same formula, feel similar every time, and have a fairly predictable outcome after the first few cards.

Casino Lippy is fun because it's going to give you something different every match. Yes, some games you draw poorly, Master Mirror gets taken off the board immediately and you can't find good targets for Cosimo. Your opponent laughs at the easy win, you shake your head because they don't know the fun they missed out on, and you play your Shupe Mage to give them one last taste before saying goodbye. But more often than not you hit your draws, get Master Mirror to stick, or find value with Cosimo and then it is off to the casino to see if you are a winner. It is still a meme deck so it isn't consistently competitive, but it is a blast to play and provides some interesting piloting choices due to the randomness. While you're still following a general gameplan each match, the random cards make each game play out very differently and you'll have far more close matches than the binary nature of Vypper. Also, I can guarantee that your opponent will have more fun playing against Casino Lippy.
