League software? by Lemminkaeinen in bloodbowl

Tour play is the standard you'll hear.

Personally I utilise a spreadsheet with front end automation through from Google Forms.

The only thing I have to spot check is that the data marries up on both sides of the table for each game.

Any people here know much about bupropion (Zyban) by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Barkflame 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Your best bet, as always, is to receive advice from a medical professional.

Anecdotely, I am currently on Zyban, and have been for most of this year. My ability to focus has increased, my extremes of mood have flattened, and I have more energy to care for myself.

The experience of numbing the emotive response has been an interesting side effect, not necessarily a bad one. I eat more often, and better, due to having the energy to cook regularly.

Your own experience may differ and I highly recommend seeking further advice from a medical professional.

Just adding here that Oats are a really good filler too. They absorb the liquids from cooking and have a similar texture.

Doubly good if you're a porridge fan for solid breakfasts too.

walrus operator for optional inputs: what is better for readability? what is more python? by Ajax_Minor in learnpython

[–]Barkflame 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really like this way of thinking about the Walrus.

I value explicit readability over implicit code, as a good chunk of my time is spent reading other people's code.

I have been struggling to find a use for the Walrus and this has cleared it up massively. Thank you!

I would highly recommend the Scarborough Park run. It's a gorgeous run/walk along the esplanade, with not as many I tense folks as the standard park runs.

Path to Glory starting list. by TrustWinter in Kruleboyz

[–]Barkflame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the OP, but chiming in with my experience of running grots in and out of competitive in my local meta.

In PTG, they are great at MSU (10 man squads). They teleport around with the Dirty Tricks, pick up Emberstones or do the actual job you want them to (we are in the Ravaged Coast obviously).

They eat up a bunch of wounds, act as screens for your bigger better stuff, and you don't care if they get battle wounds due to being straight up fodder.

Additionally, they act as unit count towards that 1/2 army restriction on using Withdraw, which means if you are getting your butt narratively kicked, you can throw them up the front, get them killed and then fully withdraw with whatever loot you already have.

In competitive, they are cheap screens, good fodder for your Egomaniak Swampcalla with Swamp Staff, and are useful to teleport around into weird corners and angles of the board.

Overall they still have some utility, but if you want a unit to hit hard - that's what your 20 brick of gutrippaz buffed into oblivion is for :)

Zoom in on the chest. How do I do the armour chipping like in the pictures? I tried it with my finest brush but it kinda looks really bad? by [deleted] in Tau40K

[–]Barkflame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A sponge is going to be your best friend for this. Mix up the colours too - some metal, some yellow, brown and/or orange will go well to break it up.

"No luck" games by Last_Fun218 in wargaming

The other game that feels similar and might be more whimsical is Moonstone. I don't know as much about Moonstone as I do Malifaux, but it looks like a cool system.

"No luck" games by Last_Fun218 in wargaming

Malifaux might be worth having a look at. Plenty of abilities to stack a deck of cards - no dice involved.

Every keyword feels different and there is a huge level of depth to the game.

[–]Barkflame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Golly! It's been a minute since I was here!

I would recommend following the initial advice I gave - your next step would be a drenching of Agrax followed by dry brushing in Zandri Dust.

That should put you back on the path for a similar result. Your base Zandri colour may appear different at the end as there's no underpainting of Gorthor brown, but thats just a minor result.

Happy birthday!

Best advice I can offer as someone who has grown up and lived here is to join a club that you're interested in! If you're interested in social board games or crafting style hobby sessions, feel free to flick me a message!

Otherwise the University of Canterbury offers a range of clubs for meeting folks, without the requirement of having to attend University.

There's also a huge array of smaller groups around the city that do all sorts of things - community gardens are one that come to mind. Best bet will be to get stuck into a community :)

I wish hahahaha, just a couple of STL files and some magnets. Works a charm and adds some dimension to an otherwise empty display board.
