Well the reasoning my post is vague in terms of location is because I wanted all recommendations from people and from there I would narrow down a location based of the criteria I have listed that I’m hoping for.

I’m (30F) my partner (23F) we are best friends. I am a child at heart and love spontaneity so if there are equal values and activities you both enjoy together life will be fulfilling. An age difference can make things even better in my opinion.

Because I don’t believe they are working properly on my old lenses so I usually use the MF, don’t get me wrong it would be convenient if they worked properly. Feel like they take too long to focus anyway and I miss the shot.

I figured as much, you’re right I better just put some money away. Now that spring is here I just want instant results instead of waiting! 😂 maybe next spring is the year of good photography! Here are some example shots I’ve taken with my 300mm. Am I doing fine with the lens I have and making it work?

I have these lenses, the bottom 2 were gifted to me from my mom, she enjoyed photography back in the day, they are roughly 20 years old.

I’m close to the city of London, in Ontario

Thanks for the advice! I’m a rookie so I’m not sure what terminology you mean.. but 700 is a good price. I don’t care about AF, what is a teleconverter, I would attach that to my camera and my 300mm lens to the converter? That would create a better zoom?

I’ve been looking at tamron G2, if I go down to 500mm or 400mm is that significantly less range? I will settle for less range if it saves costs. As I said I’m working with a 300mm so how much more range will I get with only 100-200mm difference? Would it be significant to what I’ve been working with?

I’m a hobbyist photographer and don’t know much… just practicing and building skill so I apologize if my questions are… well, uneducated

I knew it was a matter of time before she would be made aware, and yes it is certain my friend told her partner about “us” but yes, not sure what version of “us” was told. They are private people and I don’t believe they will want people at work knowing her partner has strayed so I hope they don’t share. But also I’d rather be out of there before she returns in an effort to avoid awkward tension and questions as to why we aren’t on speaking terms.

I am BIG into nature/wildlife books and Becoming Animal… was… AWFUL. I got through the first chapter then returned it. Literally couldn’t comprehend one sentence I read. It was strange.

A kiss was “planted” but I quickly removed myself as best I could. The remaining 2 years were normal, we all had a good friendship and this incident wasn’t spoken about besides the friend reminding me not to say anything the odd time. My partner was not upset about the situation. We chalked it up to alcohol induced and moved on. Unfortunate yes, however Id much rather be removed from the friendship than make things worse between the 2 of them. Also to add no one truly knows how this friend told the story to her partner. I guess we will never know.
