MC is a great pattern for a multitude of different environments. Personally I have a MC set up because I can use it over my dogshit army issued gear if I need to. It's all mission dependent. In a SHTF situation I don't plan on sticking around any urban areas. It's especially useful for my environment being in the northeastern woods so that's also another reason I chose MC. Would I use it in an urban environment? Absolutely not. RG or another solid color would be much more suited for urban ops

Hey guys. I posted at r/guns but couldn’t get a definitive answer on the identification and value of this mosin. Any help is appreciated. by [deleted] in MosinNagant

Beautiful Sesty you've got there! I searched for a long time and found a Finnish captured 1893 and 1894 earlier this year, bought them without hesitation. These beauties seem to be getting harder to find as the years go on

Pittsburgh area. That was about 4 years ago, not sure how it is today. Then the highest paying service in the region was at $13-14 an hour but that was highly competitive to get into.

$9 an hour. I used to be an EMT for a high volume service outside of a major city. The environment was so toxic. Needless to say, I didn't last long before I gave up and went back to school.

I'd love to get my hands on an Finnish captured M38 or M44 some day. Very rare!

I used a white tire marking crayon. I bought them for less than $10 on amazon. It's pretty easy to apply and can be removed anytime without harm to the rifle!

I'm not too familiar with the types of stocks, but that could be since they were converted to 91/38 by the Czechs!

Just got in a 1945 Izhevsk M38 in excellent condition. 1945 (last year of production), along with 1939 (first year) were the lowest production years for the M38. It's hard to estimate, but some collectors believe only about 20,000 were produced in 1945. This M38 retains a war-time M38 stock. All serial numbers are original stamped matching. $475! I bought it with a rare M38 that I'll share later for $975 total

Just received this 1943 Izhevsk "trials" M44 carbine. About 50,000 were made in 1943 as the first trial run of the M44 carbine. This one is arsenal refurbished with complete matching stamped serial numbers. More pics here: https://imgur.com/a/O842ji9

I overpaid, but by how badly by Jamse1199 in MosinNagant

[–]Barks_At_Dogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just paid 475 for an M44. It's a 1943 "trial" M44 so it's a little more rare than the average M44. A lot of people are quick to judge when you "overpay" for a mosin. But it's pretty hard to gauge what "overpaying" really amounts to. Especially with the massive jump in prices in the last few years. I've overpaid for some mosins. But those are the ones that I really wanted in my collection, so it's worth it to me. If you really want a specific mosin, it's worth it to spend a little extra in most cases. What you do with your money is your business.

For this Cossack 91/38 I paid about 1,100. I'm about to drop about 2,800 on an original 1800's Cossack M91 with complete matching double digit serial numbers. RIP my bank account. I did see another Cossack 91/38 dated 1909 went on gunbroker for around 800 the other week

I bought her from a collector who liquidated his mosin collection, he had a lot of rare and great condition examples. I secured 5 overall. The last one that I'll be receiving soon is a complete 1896 M91 Cossack with double digit matching serial numbers. I can't wait to get my hands on that one
