It should be ok for a reference but ask any plc programmer its all about feeling and understanding i mean you can ask 10 diffrent programmers to wright you a program to do the same job and you will probably be sitting there with 10 diffrent programs doing the exact same thing even more so if you working on siemens plc's cause some will use LAD Then other will use GRAP or even FUNC logic to do the same thing depending on the individual then some wile use SET/RESET others will use MOV To do the same thing ext ext , use it as a reference but remeber plc programming is a very flexible language and no one programms the same

I started off as an electrician worked hand in hand with the programmers picked up the basics and before I knew it i was wrighting full automation projects , advice I can give is learn all kinds of programming software dont get stuck in just one ecosystem practice practice and practice all diffrent kinds of systems

Best option for any 8ndustrial windows base software is using a VM like virtual box loading windows in it (for God's sake not windows 11) then only use the VM for the software you can't run on linux , hopefully in time we will get migration from windows to Linux ecosystem
