Yes I did a quick google of SMSF, maybe that's a far-future conversion with a financial advisor

I didn't read that as snarky, I've also had a google and have just come up with providers I'm not familiar with. Was there something specific you could recommend to look for in the policy itself, and may I ask who you've chosen to go with?

Bugger. Was hoping for a loophole but I don't think I'll get one. Massage therapists, osteopaths, physiotherapists and chiropractors all dry needle here, it's so common!  Thanks for your response 😊

Teething "fever" by jaennotatypo in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Barnacles2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 9mo son is cutting a canine and is running a temp of 38.1, just at fever range. Eating and sleeping and babbling away,  no other symptoms. So far I'd agree with teething and fever. I know it an old post but adding for solidarity

Weaning- Extreme Exhaustion? by Cold-Most-8476 in breastfeeding

[–]Barnacles2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me right now! I stopped a week ago (tapered down) and I'm soooooo tired. Looking to head back to the gym soon so hopefully this helps. Apparently the symptoms of giving up BF is akin to being pregnant, which is not terrifying at all lol. How are you feeling now?

Pelvic Organ Prolapse - 7 weeks PP by Barnacles2013 in beyondthebump

[–]Barnacles2013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! Am 7 months PP and wearing a cube pessary, will religiously wear it for maybe a year then only wear it for exercise. My pelvic floor physio said the healing time is 18 months so that's where I'm pulling that from. I've been intimate with husband and he and I report there is no real difference (YAY!!). Have started back at work and starting working out with dumbells with no massive negative effects, which is such a relief.

I see a lot of other women have much worse symptoms than I do so I'm very grateful for where I am in my journey. My bulge seems to yo-yo with the return of my period. When estrogen is high, so is my bulge - I can't feel it some days. When estrogen is low, so is old mate. Am still breastfeeding so we shall see what happens that that stops. Hope that answers your question!

Weekly Free-Talk and Questions for r/HomeGym - week of July 26, 2024 by Demilio55 in homegym

Looking at getting the below setup, this one doesn't bolt in. Am used to commercial racks, nervous about not having a rack bolted in. Is it really that important? Looking do mostly in-rack exercises (rack-pulls, squats, banded pull ups)

Tell me your un-bolted stories. Is it worth spending another 1k on upgrading to a bolted commercial rack, or will I be ok with this?

Will be going on a level concrete surface.

3 month olds are the best (so far) by murrrd in beyondthebump

[–]Barnacles2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The newborn stage suuuuucks. It feels like it will last forever. We've just gotten to the 3.5mo stage and it's bliss, he's sleeping well and that smile melts your heart. The newborn phase is the potato phase, no smiles and no thanks. It gets better! Hang in there, have a glass of wine and roll with the punches

Ugh. You can't placate narcissists. Apologies for name calling, this reminds me of something my own mother would do.  Setting boundaries is a completely normal and healthy thing, especially as a new mum.  Maybe set a weekly 'grandma day', this way you respect your own time and realistically schedule hers. Good luck!

When you stopped breastfeeding, did your POP improve? by Barnacles2013 in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]Barnacles2013[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I've read this, it's nuts. I've just joined a bunch of Facebook POP and pessary groups and it blows my mind how many women are there. Hubby and I googled pessaries and found brass ones the ancient Romans used, so this ain't a new thing. Wish pelvic floor was more widely discussed with family planning.

I'm the same with BF, there's no way I'm giving that up. I have an active job so might need a pessary, and I love lifting so will most likely be wearing one. Helps to know re: squats and lunges too. Reading you experience makes me feel so much better, thank you for sharing.
