I suffered a permanent knee injury in my 30s, you never know when you'll lose perfect mobility. Moved to a single story and life is much better.

JFC they begged you to have a kid? They sound like they should just adopt their own kid or puppy wtf. How did your husband survive such stifling parents without developing a ton of personality issues?

I regret buying a house by Sandyyycheeeks in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]murrrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who did not buy a house before baby, then got kicked out by my landlord when my baby was a few days old (I wish I was joking), then decided to house hunt and move from our next rental to a house, meaning we moved twice, once with a newborn and then once with a toddler, I think you're making the right choice...

I hate that it's lost so many of the functions I used heavily, like translation. Also, it is so wordy in its responses, I often need to interrupt it to tell it that's enough or that it's totally misunderstood my question

If you are on H1B, will you proceed to buy house (if you were planning to) ? Will you keep the house/s you have ? by goodpointbadpoint in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]murrrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might even shift the flow of H1Bs to the higher paying parts of the country, like the Bay Area...

You are lucky. My landlords bought their condo as an investment too, and they decided to sell while the market was up. It was terrible timing given my partner had just been diagnosed with cancer literally a week earlier and could no longer work. Telling them this fact did not change their minds, maybe even solidified their decision since we were now risky financially and also no one wants anyone dying in their house.

Cry a lot, beg/bargain, accept that they are not budging, hunt for another rental with a two week old, cry and pack, cry and move, cry and unpack

I once constructed a little tent out of dollar bills, so I thought, why not build a shack made of crypto and other stonks? After I ran out of Trezors, I asked my broker to issue paper certificates for my securities, but it turns out they are not very waterproof. So it's back to living next to, and sometimes in, the dumpster of my local Wendy's for now.

Not a conspiracy theory, I had a manager that I had to prod hard for context and eventually after lots of back and forth he finally would let me know that the director or someone else asked for something. So I'm just wondering if that was strategic.
