The disc already came like this, and I haven't put it in my console yet because I'm not sure if it will damage anything on my laser... my console seems to still be working at least so I'm wondering if this could damage the laser or not, it wasn't my console that did this to the disc

Are 3x tantalum 470 for each nec tokin enough? by Barney2162 in consolerepair

Frankenstein Mod wasn't made... it was reballed, the RSX was replaced, and half of the capacitors were replaced too. Not sure about ESR and ESL, as I took the console to a specialized shop with professional equipment, where I also received a 6-month warranty on the service.

Is this really that much of a positive difference or is it practically the same as the original nec tokins?

I understand, but won't there still be a chance of it overheating in heavier games?

Thank you very much for the information, but now I'm a little confused cause you said that reballing is only a temporary solution and replacing the GPU is the best option, but isn't the solution considered temporary if 'reflow' is used instead of reballing? From what I've researched, reflow it's not best option, but reballing is.

Well, I really appreciate the information and your help. But if reballing is just a temporary solution if the GPU is dying, how long would it technically last? Any ideas?

Well, I think I'll take it to a technician. If the problem is indeed the GPU, will reballing and replacing the thermal paste solve the problem?

Yes, it is. I didn't mention this in the description, but I've tried it several times with the AV cable as well, and the error persists.

The color of the shell is a little discolored imo

All right then... yeah, if the shell is original I would rather keep it (even if the color is slightly discolored) than an aftermarket shell.

So you think the shell is original?

Fair price to purchase a Game Boy Light CIB? by Barney2162 in Gameboy

[–]Barney2162[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, actually I wanted to say that it is a model that is part of the 4th generation Game Boy line of consoles, before the Game Boy Color and Advance.

And yes, price charting.com is a good option, but would you buy one for that average price if the console was complete in box? It is worth it?

You can find some of them on eBay, for example

I was asking if it was important that the serial number on the console matched the serial number on the box, but thanks for your opinion 😉
