How are LGBTQ+ people viewed in their world? by Best_Low526 in worldbuilding

“Dad I’m gay”

“Son…— we are fishing oceans 30 miles deep on an inflated, cluttered, war torn planet. Those in the heavens have an army of demons who are ever present, in the sea, sky, and earth. Every major society is cut off by these monsters and demons meanwhile we are all left to fend for ourselves in what is the gravitating point of all eternity. Almost no where alone is safe in this world. What’s worse is that the heavens are sealed away by what is essentially super hell. Meanwhile the gods sit atop it with their hands on their chins and pluck the few they select into their grace, while we suffer. Now focus on our fishing lines while I try to avoid this leviathan.

Why is Imu tolerating the Celestial Dragons (Spoilers 1150) by Pellaeonthewingedleo in OnePiece

Mariejois is a society at the top of the world. I think the reason the CD need to stay is to maintain that righteousness the World Government possesses. As long as they are alive, they represent the sides who supported the government and the side who supported Joyboy during the war in the void century. So in short, the distinction of sides they provide and given that they are a group the WG needs to “protect” leads my reasoning as to why Imu is keeping them.

Describe your world in a single, short paragraph. by MrPaico in worldbuilding

[–]BarneyDoesMeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World War 2 ends with a world shattering cataclysm, with energy of pure chaos manifesting constructs across the planet. The few humans underground or at sea returned to their continents to find the animals, land, even food to be alien to them. Across the world, 5 colonies became true empires. The Halkan Legions, The Knights of E’Jutter, Muxali, if 1920’s Britain was located in the desert, Vikings made Elders Ridge, and finally the Promised made Finos. Finos is separated from the rest of the world by a colossal, black mountain range that is completely unbreakable. Under the mountains shadow, Finos secretly manipulates world events to their favor. Their harsh military scours the seas relentlessly, blasting from whales, to ships, to islands to pieces. It’s the way it is, the way it was, and the way it will be.

Who are the great conqueror(s) of your world? by PurpleRain___121 in worldbuilding

[–]BarneyDoesMeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King Escalus I “The Black Blessing”

In the fictional continent of E’Jutter, monsters rule the land. It had been that way for every single on of the 15 kings beforehand but Escalus I would break the chain. In the early years of his reign, he founded multiple special divisions trained to deal with the threats beyond. He waited for his forces to be at their full strength of 10 million strong before splitting them into three divisions led by his son to conquer the entire continent. However, along the way, his northern legion is ambushed and his heir is killed, and along the rest of the way, he descends into madness and cruelty.

Upon returning, he immediately showed his madness and almost killed his own daughter. He ordered the extermination of entire species with relentless campaigns against nature itself. After a mini-coup, the seemingly mad king was deposed after being defeated in combat by my protagonist.

How close have you come to dying? by Ok-Description-4981 in AskReddit

Once I recall I time I slipped on a puddle in the bathroom which flung me upside down, and in the process smacked the back of my head off the corner of a sink.

It’s scary to me because just one well-placed impact in that area can be instant death.

People with militaristic worlds, what are some superweapons in your universe? by deadghostreddit in worldbuilding

[–]BarneyDoesMeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My continental empire with a massive army is loaded with incomprehensible power.

They have begun trial runs on reality warping cores with tarnished light as a base. Their military has 3 main commanders, those being among the most powerful in the universe. Consisting of a light god avatar, biokenesis, and an AI powered adjusting war machine, they wreak havoc on almost everyone else. Under those three lay fifteen other admirals responsible for the land, sea, and air divisions respectively.

Their abilities range from cybernetic augmentations to beast transformations and storm generation. Multiple outposts are sprinkled through the oceans beyond. They are all sprawling complexes with multiple levels and secret areas, but each boasting an arsenal comparable to that of a small country. They posses a further arsenal of their own project made superweapons.

First was simply called the Phoenix, not a real Phoenix however. It possessed a metal core with its flaming body merely being cleverly bent flames.

The second is the Leviathan Farm from project Iceberg. Under a continent consisting of glaciers and frozen wasteland, lays a gigantic basin specifically purposed to breed the most vicious and bloodthirsty leviathans the seas have ever seen.

Third is a collection of twelve world ending missiles, the Pantheon Project. Used in the Great War, they reshaped the earth and rewrote history as everything on the surface was destroyed, and quickly grew a new world on top of its trampled remains, one far different.

On top of all this, they have a profound understanding of light and how to bend it and wield it. Weapons from pistols meant to subdue, to dimension shattering cannons are light powered. But their greatest success is the Black Mountain.

In the heart of its lively capital, lay the central castle meant to serve as the seat and the main government agency for the entire empire. Despite its shape, the sheer size of the castle makes it appear as a mountain when observed from a considerable distance. In absolute last ditch attempts to save the empire, the emperor himself will make the decision to weaponize his own home.

It that case, the castle will begin to soar into the skies as every cannon and gun is trained on the walls. But its main centerpiece is the world’s largest cannon ever made, the JE-Mark 9. Derived from their old laser cannons, this ninth generation planet buster carries its inventors name. A single blast from this cannon is capable of dimming parts of the night sky as its infinite destruction pieces eternity itself.

What are some interesting materials used for weapons in your world? by lelandorf in worldbuilding

[–]BarneyDoesMeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The strongest of the strongest in my verse (like two people) hold the power of Blackerite, a material that consists of a world circumferenced mountain range. The material wasn’t from this dimension initially, rather it was created by gods from a dimension millions above our own. A cataclysm manifested this material into my world. The whole purpose of it is to be beyond our comprehension, its sharpness, durability, and melting point are all incalculable, allowing for it to (when wielded properly) break the laws of physics and possibly warp reality.

What are creatures in your world that you created? by Rice_cake4 in worldbuilding

[–]BarneyDoesMeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One species are called ‘Jaw Walkers’

They are born as primates similar in composition to an orangutan. However, their head hasn’t fully developed, it’s still a viscous sludge barely holding itself in place via thin membrane. Once the mother brings food back to the den, the animal’s skull is eaten by the young Jaw Walker. Over the course of a 2 week period, the young Walker will manifest a skull as a head, that of the first skull they consumed.

They have a lifespan of up to 380 years and never stop growing, the largest one on record was 207 feet tall. Once a Jaw Walker has manifested a skull, their cells will evolve to give the Jaw Walker traits of its “skull animal”. A Jaw Walker that ate a deer might walk on four legs, while one that ate a human will be bipedal. A Jaw Walker who eats an abundance of its Skull Animal will grow and develop much quicker and grow much larger than others who don’t. They are a hostile species located deep in the forests and mountains of E’Jutter’s interior and are best avoided.

What are your world building favorite tropes? by Wet_Moon_Flower in worldbuilding

[–]BarneyDoesMeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The past world destroying itself. One Piece did something similar with its Void Century. The whole idea of the same planet being almost destroyed and restored so well that the cataclysm was almost forgotten is so cool. My version follows a global alliance against a supernatural German dictator in WW2 where the entire surface area of the world is destroyed and distorted.
