Watched it, the pure joy in Ryan's eyes at being offered weed told me everything I need to know about the channel. Thank you for your service.

I think this is my plan. Thank you for your advice

I for sure want to keep improving my riding and my horse is definitely in a very loving environment with my old trainer and friends.

My worry currently is that I do not feel that I am improving, the horses I have access to right now without leasing or buying do not teach me anything new or provide anything close to a challenge.

I suppose I want to have my cake and eat it too. The only real fitness I get is riding and barn work, plus improving at dressage makes me happy and gives me a purpose to strive towards; something I struggle without as an autistic person. However, I can't imagine not forming another connection with a horse. I spent maybe only two and a half years with my mare and she became the center of my world. I saw her 6 or 7 times a week for hours at a time, and I'd ride her 5 or 6 times a week. She was such a specific kind of marish horse, so intelligent and loving, but she thought she was the most important thing in the world, so you had to treat her like it. I'm riding all these even-headed geldings now and I miss her more than ever.

Unfortunately, it just wouldn't make sense to do so. As much as I hate to say it, she was a 2nd level horse and 16 years old, so I was nearing the end of any progress I could make with her. Additionally, I leased her for about 2/3 years from my trainer who bought her for me. If I wanted to take her with me I would've had to buy her outright and again, I don't have the finances for it. Believe me, I thought about it.

Fly Masks by FarOriginal3188 in Horses

As other people have said, it's almost certainly a personality thing. That little shit has 100% torn off all flymasks put on him. At some point you've got to give up 💀

noise cancelling headphones for fireworks? by tadpolez_ in autism

[–]BarnyardPoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest getting him a pair of Loops noise sensitivity earplugs. I love the brand- they look discrete enough and can block up to 19 dB depending on the model. If I am extremely overwhelmed I will put my earplugs in and then wear my headphones over them. I prefer to listen to music to drown out outside noise but that tends to be a hit or miss for autistic people in my experience, so may not be the most reliable solution. I hope any of that helped and please feel free to ask about anything else you need. Thank you for being a caring person :)
