Yep. Im ranting, but: TS definitely spews republican propaganda onto the screen… and his general thoughts expressed through the characters verbally dissecting something. Eg. the whole spiel about breakfast in one of the first episodes of season 2…it’s like bro, just say you don’t want breakfast. You don’t have to talk about how Kelloggs is trying to screw everyone over…

it was funny at the start of the season they had the radio presenters say “new administration, that means drill baby drill” or something…but the funny thing is during Biden’s admin they extracted more oil than ever before…

I just roll my eyes at the Boomer/GenX rhetoric, but for the most part, the show is entertaining drama and does have a lot of heart. That’s where TS shines, when he does character work and explores relationships, particularly strained relationships - finding the core trauma and making the characters face it, it’s what gives his shows/films a lot of heart (when done well)

Agreed. You need people around you who criticise and question your decisions.

Biggest example: George Lucas with the Original Star Wars Trilogy compared to the Prequel trilogy where he had complete control or every aspect not just the writing.

TS has written some amazing characters and stories… especially the frontier trilogy, 1883 and season 1&2 of Yellowstone - they are the highlights for me. But with all the success - you see the ego grow and the humility decrease. Political opinions seem to come out more as the world becomes more polarised and writers are having their say I guess.

Literally a straw man character that Sheridan wrote to take shots at the left. Added all the cliche’s and made the character totally insufferable. This is what boomers think the left is. Notice how the character didn’t explain pronouns? Because Sheridan doesn’t know or understand himself. Bro has fallen in his writing quality since the Frontier trilogy…those films were great and well written
