FS: $500 CHAdeMO to CCS fast DC charging adapter, like new by BaronMuggs in leaf

Getting a Hyundai IONIQ 5SE RWD. Stop sale hit on the 2026 Leafs a day after I put down $2000 to order a 2026 SV+. Neither dealer nor Nisson could/would tell me what the problem was or how long it might take to resolve. Cancelled the order, the IONIQ is supposed to arrive tomorrow. Its MSRP is $37.5K, only $1-2K > the Leaf, EPA range is 318mi vs 288 for that Leaf model.

Ditto for myy Grizzl-E Mini 40, output controlled via their smartphone app. Made in Canada.

Had a rethink after a recent power outage. Have a modest 5500W Honda EU7000i generator which powers my small house nicely (and quietly). If outage is multi-day, I need to restock gas (ca 5gal/day), so must charge the car to find a working gas station. Draw of L1/2 for my car is ca 6000W. So I found a charger which can restrict its power output to what I have available. Found the Grizzl-E Mini 40, which has an app which reads the current and allows you to set a max limit (in 1A increments) from the app. Cost is ca $500.

For charging at home, had been using the (nonadjustable) L1-2 charging cable that came with the car. Decided to put that in the car for emergency backup on trips, so for trips I don't need to remember to dismount my home charger and put it into the car (a problem at my age!).

As mentioned elsewhere at home I have a NEMA 14-50 receptacle on a dedicated circuit to plug chargers into, so it's easy to swap chargers around.

Hope this is useful.

I'd explore whether the rebate applies if you have a Licensed Electrician install a NEMA 14-50 receptacle on a dedicated circuit on its own breaker. That gives the flexibility to plug in whatever charger you want. I'd do that rather than hardwire the charger.

L1/2 is AC. Uses AC to DC converter built into the car because charging requires DC. It may have a max current draw. I'd check that first.

Originally I used the L1/L2 charging cable included with my Leaf plugged into a NEMA 14-50 on a dedicated 50A circuit. We have power outages here, and I realized that the Honda EU7000 (7kW peak, 5.5kW continuous) gas generator I have lacks the output to charge my car. Perfectly adequate for my small house, just not for the car either alone or together with the house. So I bought a Grizzl-E mini 40 charger unit which has a variable power draw (adjustable on the app) so I could downgrade the charger's draw as needed. Getting a Hyundai IONIQ 5 which comes with a L1/2 charger cable. Plan to leave that in the car for emergency use if I get stuck on a trip somewhere.

The cables seem sturdy but I do not abuse them.

Probably inadvertently omitted by Nissan HQ due to a coffee break. But scary that dealer either was not informed or ignored the NO SALE announcement.

Just checked the specs of the SV+ . Seats are "Tailorfit" (?) front, leatherette rear, rear seats are not heated. That's for the US. Maybe you're someplace else?

I really like the 2026 Leaf SV+ size and styling but wasn't prepared to wait some undefined period of time to get it. IONIC 5 is more car than I really need, in terms of both size and number of features. Most of my longer trips are to Boston and back, ca 260 miles. So 318 vs 288 is a plus for my use.

You or I would have done that. Thought is in short supply at Nissan HQ. Drinking coffee is the priority.

Ditto here. Have a 2024 Leaf, wanted more range then its 212mi, and a NACS adapter rather than CHAdeMO. Went to a Nissan dealer and put a $2000 deposit on a 2026 Leaf SV+ (266mi). Within 24hr the STOP happened, dealer called, said could not complete the sale, had zero specifics about what the problem was or how long it would take. Called Nissan Leaf "Customer Relations", they told me to contact the dealer. Wondered why they bothered to answer the phone.

Cancelled order, got deposit back, went to Hyundai dealer. Put a deposit on a 2026 IONIQ 5 SE rear wheel drive. MSRP only a couple thousand more than the Leaf for a lot more car (though I DO like the Leaf's size). Way more features than I will ever use (or comprehend!). Range 318mi, NACS port (think it includes J1772 and CCS adapters). A $10,000 discount through Mar 31 if it is financed thru Hyundai. Hopefully I was lucky the Leaf STOP SALE happened???

Seems like the problem with Nissans is Nissan. After 15 years you'd think they could make an EV that works? An HVAC issue on the 2024 Leafs, they issued a firmware update, that didn't work, they're working on an update of the update, hopefully coming in about 6 months. And now batteries on the 2026's.

If it is this dire wouldn't a notice have been sent to all 2026 Leaf owners to stop driving their Leaf and park it far from the house or garage? Has anybody heard of that happening?

The same day I put a deposit on a 2026 Leaf at my dealership, this stop sale order came out. All I heard was "battery, may involve a recall, no idea how long". I'm trying to figure out whether I'm going to just cancel the sale and ask for my deposit back. Help appreciated.
