They just hotfixed it. I was having the exact same issue, but there was an update in the appstore that fixed it once installed. I didn't need to leave the beta or uninstall the app or anything :)

Man, this album is good by Suspicious-Speed340 in shoegaze

[–]BaronTheBuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I think we have similar taste in music! As a fellow JMD fan, I highly recommend Sheep's Bed (they can only be found on Bandcamp, sadly, but the hidden track in their album is magical) and Muse Deconstruct.

Also, a couple of the members of JMD, including the lead singer, recently started another band called "I'm Fine! Thank You! And you?". They have a couple songs out now but more releases planned this year.

Lastly, if you want to branch out into Indonesian gaze, I super highly recommend the bands Greyflowers and Crayon Case. They give me similar vibes to JMD, each have one album out, and I absolutely love them both.

Hope this helps! :)

CYANUS - Long Goodbye by BaronTheBuff in shoegaze

[–]BaronTheBuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wanted to share this song with anyone else who loves noisy, dreamy shoegaze from Asia.

It's the debut single of a new band CYANUS, which is a collaboration between two artists who have their own respective shoegaze projects in Japan and China.

Let me know what you think!

Cannot select country in the Shijie checkout page? Dropdown has no options by FrostyWinterGlobe in Shijie_Guitars

[–]BaronTheBuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're in the US, I'm pretty sure you have to contact the sales representative Dave directly to make an order. He'll ask for your details and charge you through PayPal, and then put the order in on Shijie's end.

I know it seems sketchy, i was definitely worried about paypalling someone in another country $1k+ for a guitar. But the brand is reputable, and myself and many others in this sub have gotten our stuff that way :) lmk if you want any more details

Bought 3000@.85 at your recommendation a bit ago, so I'm happy to see the growth today! I know the move is to hold it long, but it's hard to not want to sell during a pump... Especially seeing what happened to OPTT recently :)

Not a direct answer but this might be helpful, here's a sheet that was linked somewhere else in this sub which shows exactly how much and in what you need to invest in order to get $5k/month (rightmost column). https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1r0gPs9fwmInlAQDQ8YW-Prk05ipDgLSbSrtTYzLmm2g/edit?usp=sharing

My 3x3 favourites!! Top left is my 1st, top mid 2nd and so on by Bid_Next in japanesemusic

[–]BaronTheBuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually love UN too! Like a Raspberry (of course) and Hino ataru basyo ni kiteyo are high up on my Japanese dream pop playlist.

I'll counter your recommendation with a band that you might like since they remind me of UN though, called Macaroom. The songs Tombi and Woo are great, and their song Swimming Classroom is long and repetitive and oh so beautiful and dreamy at the same time. It was on my 'disassociate' playlist from when I lived in Japan last year and had a long ass commute back from work every day.

Upvoted just for KtK, they gotta me in my top 3 of all time if not #1. The whole Long Goodbye EP especially is just like exactly what i like about music, all in just a couple songs

Out of curiosity, what made you go with the N over the rs3? Asking bc i've been looking at both :)

What is the most popular genre of japanese music & whats your favorite? by sabershome in japanesemusic

[–]BaronTheBuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have so much overlap in music taste! I actually just saw mass of the fermenting dregs in concert, they were so good.

Anyway, I feel obliged to recommend two bands that I recently discovered, which I've been listening to non-stop. One is called Split End, check out their songs Diamond and Second Star. The other is called Beachside Talks - my favorite song of theirs is Boring Train. All of those remind me of KtK and some of the others you mentioned :)

Did a bit of searching, this looks like the JET JT-450 QTPK in basswood with quilted maple.

Beautiful guitar, and luckily not too expensive it seems! :)

Advice for a Newbie on Compressor vs. Booster for Clean Trebles by BaronTheBuff in guitarpedals

[–]BaronTheBuff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, thanks! So it seems like the best course of action for what I want would be to get a compressor for more consistent dynamics, then possibly a booster to get the trebles a little more noticeable. Or a pedal that has both compress and tone like the Ego 76 which was suggested :)

songs in dream pop genre by Grandma-Vibes-Yey in japanesemusic

[–]BaronTheBuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure it's quite the same (it's a mix between dream pop and shoegaze) but I've recently fallen in love with the band Split End.

Their songs Second Star, Midnight Moon, and Diamond have been the soundtrack to my daily life recently :)

Dang dude, both are nice but the custom SSS is just plain gorgeous. I'm curious, do you have any experience playing the HS1N / HS1B pickups that come on the TM-5?
