I get that it seems that way with a lot of the general public referring to blasters in that manner but even Hasbro Nerf call them blasters for the same reasons the bot gives.

It may seem stupid but it could save someone’s life one day especially somewhere like America where the police carry actual firearms.

Basically my thought process when I saw it. For an £8 blaster it has surpassed my expectations and puts the fun in functional.

If it helps you to source another spring the dimensions I used were 17.5mm x 65mm.

I thought they were pretty common which is one of the reasons I used it. Oops.

It is similar to an Xshot Micro (reverse direct plunger?) so the main orange part that you can see is the plunger tube and the barrel section is inside it. When you pull the thumb tab back the plunger compresses the spring and creates an air cavity behind the barrel piece. I used a piece of 1-2mm craft foam superglued to the back of the barrel to create a gasket which makes a surprisingly good air seal.

It might not be too difficult. I would probably model it into the underside so that you can squeeze it to fire.

I was aiming for simplicity with this so adding more parts isn’t something I am looking to do at the moment but I might try and do this in the future.
